DAA's and FDA approval

Does anyone know why its predicted that it will take at least 5 years before the oral antivirals for HCV will be FDA approved?

Can you elaborate on the five year statement? Most of the internet chatter, the press releases from Vertex, and the statement by my hepatologist last month all lead me to believe that at least one of them, ‘Telaprevir’ is expected to receive approval sometime in 2011.

Yes Teleprevir with interferon will be available soon. as I hear as well. But use without interferon is what I am talking about, for those intolerant to it.
