Dare I say it??? (other post welcome)

CURED!
Yes that is exactly how I feel, cured. Totally rid of this disease. I received my 1 year post undetectable results in the mail Wednesday but did not tell anyone until last night as I needed to let it really sink in and see how I felt. I finally told my husband last night. I know there is always talk about if the virus lurking or if we will relapse, but for me those are not issues any longer. I wondered how I would feel, if I would feel like I would
be wondering if the virus is still there hiding and waiting to attack as some suggest but you know I don't feel that way at all and as most of you know I stay informed and up to date on HCV. After my previous post tx labs at 3, 6 and 9 months I still worried and wondered but not now. I feel ....... well comfortable an uninfected is how I will describe it. Thank you all for your support during this time. I really appreciate it, you are all so great. Funny I suddenly feel very teary eyed which is the first time since I got the results. I am also thinking of all the people who are not here that I also want to thank. I hope many of you are lurking now and again and see this. I know you know who you are and I thank all of you too from the bottom of my heart. I feel so incredibly lucky especially after not having cleared at 3 months and being a genotype 1. I am so very happy today. I wish all of you the best and thank each of you and send you all the warmest wishes that I can not even put into words. Thanks to all. LL

Congratulations! You knocked the virus out for good. It took alot extra on your part to do it, but you did it. Also great to hear that you are now able to get by on less thyroid meds. Hopfully that trend will continue till the nedd disappears.

Perhaps time for a trip overseas to celebrate?

Oh sweetie, CONGRATULATIONS !!!!! I am so happy for you. I can imagine how you felt. I am due for my 8 month post pcr in two weeks, even after coming back negative at 2 and 5 months it still lingers there in your brain that the next one might be postitive, but after your reading your post this morning I am a little more hopeful. You are "cured"

Oh Sweetie.... That word "Cured" is like song-birds in my ear, & always the most delightful tune to hear...

I am Sooo HAPPY For You... The word Congratulations does not near describe, nor imply what I honestly feel for you!

Although my TX "is/was" optional... I felt like such a failure when I relapsed... Your Success instills hope & inspiration that all that I am attempting to do is not in vein!

It was a struggle & an uphill battle.... but you survived, & it paid off... What a trooper you are!!!!

Suddenly the word LIFE certainly has new meaning, & I know you appreciate it, & have become a stronger individual due to your experiences...

Now don't rush into your new life.... slow down, absorb all life has to offer.... stop & smell the roses, & appreciate the small things... like a fluffy cloud, or the feel of a furry critter... or better yet... a big ol heartfelt hug from family members that can now appreciate all your efforts to live to a ripe ol age...

Funny... before I was diagnosed.... I never appreciated the little things, nor knew the true meaning of LIFE in general.. & being that my treatment was optional... I guess I never felt threatened, nor took it seriously until I relapsed... it was a rude awakening for me.... & every time I am blessed enough to hear these wonderful words, it brings me to my knees, & makes me just want to praise my higher power...

Thank-You for touching & sharing your life with me... & like with TonyZ... it's a reminder to never say never... & Never give up...

I am over-whelmed with joy, & sorry that you had to endure this, but life begins today, & having gone thru this.... you are actually blessed... Never forget that, nor where you came from, or what you have endured to make you... YOU... you are special!

Sending great Big Cyber Hugs Your Way, & hoping to eventually be following in your footsteps!

Here's a quote that made me think of you.......

" When you are looking for something, you must believe you will find it. When you are scared, you must believe your fear cannot overtake you. The hope in your heart will always be there and once you access it-the possibilities are endless."

I have found in all my life that hope-true or false-is the one thing that will save us all.

Hello Layla;
This is wonderful news!!! I am really happy to hear another person is rid of this dreaded disease.

You mentioned that you did not clear at 12 weeks. Would you mind sharing your pre-tx viral load and when exactly did you clear on tx? If I am not mistaken, you did 72 weeks of tx? That looks like my plan too.

I am currently waiting on results of my 20 week vl. I am hoping & praying to be clear by now. At 16 weeks I was still 1600. But hey, I did start out at almost 56 million, so I guess that is good.

I am very happy another battle is won against the Dragon & you can go on with your life. God Bless You, Sue

Congratulations on your wonderful news!  My new doctor has no reservations about calling what you achieved -- a cure.  You've been there, done that, and now you can move on without having to drag the dragon around.  You're free!

Hey, what wonderful news! It's an inspiration to all of us!

Would you mind sharing with those not familiar, what your pre-treatment stats were (viral load, stage, grade, enzymes)
and how long did you treat and with what drugs/dosages, etc.
It's always good to hear a winning formula.
