Diet and HCV

Hi everyone.  I am wondering about what kinds of food people are eating that help keep your liver healthy.  I've looked at some sites that describe needing protein, complex carbohydtrates, fruit and vegetables, etc.

I am not a very creative eater...so I am just wondering exactly what kinds of foods some of you are eating that seems to help.

Thanks!

Hi Chev, thanks for that, that would be a better idea.

Lindy, go to http://www.hepcaustralia.com.au

once there register with username and password

then hit the 'home' button at top of screen, then if you scroll down you will come to a section called "Living with Hep C", in there you will find the diet for Hep C people called "Food recipes for hep c".

Hope all is well with everyone, and thanx again Chev.

Linda

I just got my last shipment of poison. 4 more shots and 800 what ever of pills a day.
Try eating butterflies. Thats what I do.  Their nasty little creatures, poisoning the air and water and who knows how many little children they have carried off to be feed to thier disqusting young

My doc says to eat lots of protein & calories (for energy).Cut down on the salt, no iron, & stay away from caffeine. I eat alot of salads, yogurt, ice cream & keep a protein bar in my purse. And don't forget the deluges of water & juice. I average about 80 ozs. per day of "good" liquids. I have found that my appetite & tastbuds for foods has drastically dropped, so I have found only a few things which I find appetizing, so I stick to those things. Some people develop that metallic taste from foods, but I just can't taste them. My nurse said not to worry about eating a balanced diet during tx, but to just find what you like & go with it. Chocolate works for me!! :)
I have lost about 25 lbs, but some people gain weight.
Best of luck to you.
