I have a distiller and an ionizer, plus some Evian, Volvic and Zephyrhills water.  I can't drink any one for too long - then seem to need a change.  I like the idea of distilled water, and am wondering if you add something like "Concentrace", it would become mineralizsed and safe.  Concentrace is a liquid made from full spectrum of ocean minerals.

If God wanted us to drink distilled water, she would have given the cave man a way to do so when he discovered fire

Ivette, thanks for your kind wishes, I hope I don't cause the board too much grief once I have those toxins in me...I already told my step daughter Jackie (she's getting married end of May) that if my hair should fall out fast I plan on wearing a turban with a big red ruby in the center of it to to her wedding...lol...Sometimes my humor can be very "trying" so we shall see what comes out of the dips mouth after May  lol.

just a little above or WAY above? how much above?

BTW, I wish you a smooth ride and an early negative, and of course SVR.  Time to weaken the HCV hold in the community.

there was a tv show recently about filters and water quality and surprisingly enough Brita came on with flying colors, as long as the filter was changed as suggested. It clear the bacteria also. Charcoal is one of the best filtering elements out there.  They even sell the stuff in capsules to "cleanse" the intestinal system.  The same show tested the most expensive systems and they were not that superior to the Brita. I was surprised.
I personally would not drink "empty" water.

Good afternoon All,
Did look at this and I found that distilled water has no minerals, nutrients,or pollutants in it.Well when drank it has the ability to draw harmful toxins, along with the good minera;l and nutrients and disperse them from the body. Thus it flushes us out what is good along with the bad stuff.
I'm no doc. or nutritionalist, but it's probably good to drink as long as I don't try to go on some kind of lengthy fast. Not eating well, drinking it might deplete good nutrients in my body and cause eletro-lite levels to drop, which could cause heart papiltations.

Stuties show we get most of dailey nutrient thru food,so like I said it's probably good to drink along as we eat good.

My thoughts thru some research,

Thanks hon, I hope so too. It's true what somebody said a while back that we can't blame HepC for everything...sometimes there's other stuff going on at the same time...I never could figure out why I felt so lousy when I supposedly had no liver damage...makes sense to me now! Oh well...time will tell...

Yeah, I think it is a mid life crisis thing too.  I know our friend is in his mid 40's.  Said American women were just too independent. I wanted to say what you can't keep them on a leash.  I know this is one cajun that is very independent and would not put up with that, at all.

I grew up on well water; my parents just did get hooked up to city a few years ago.  They still use the well for the garden.  But, never a salamander. Yuk!

And, the thing about the Russian Girl he bought, I can relate.  My husband has this friend that goes to Russia and brings the girl back.  If it works out she stays; if not she goes. He has yet to marry one though.  I asked why he went to Russia for the women; his reply was, young and wild and he has control, they do not speak much English and have to rely on him.  Go Figure.  I think he is nuts myself.

That's exactly why he got a Russian girl! What could she do? Get mouthy and go where? Dumb as a box o rocks tho...I guess you get what you pay for...

Yes the salamander incident was too much for me...especially when I realized what I'd been drinking all that time...I guess what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, eh?

water: You people are  scaring me. I figured I was doing good just drinking anything clear that wasn't made from fermented potatoes. I keep a number of  small bottles I rotate through the dishwasher and back to the fridge with water. Don't laugh but  someone told me that if you fill a jug with water and leave the cap off in the fridge most of the same stuff a filter takes out dissipates. I'd thought I'd swallowed enough chlorine water swimming in the pool over the years to turn kill anything. Didn't think that included me. Course I also lived by the word whiskey because it came from the gaelic meaning the 'water of life.'

Cquest and cajulady-I have to say it's interesting reading here. I only know of 1 guy who did in fact go to Russia and buy a bride. Tell ya the truth, I've doubts about him but she's wonderful. Classicaly trained concert pianist(was wonderful teaching my son) speaks great english, adorable, works 2 jobs, everyones suprised she hasn't given him the boot. I was told though that the competition was so tough to get here that as questionable as the ethics are - the women were mostly  very successful and intelligent. I figure if I could just afford the money to go to Russia I probably would have a better shot with the ladies closer to home. But that's for another day.

cquest-Truly wish the best to you with the gall bladder situation.

Here's to a well hydrated week,
Don

It's kind of ironic. We have really GOOD tasting well water from a very deep well. Nice mix of minerals/good PH balance and the only filter we have is to keep out the small rocks. But for the last few months I have been drinking bottled water because my sweet and concerned husband read somewhere about all of the bacteria that can build up from re-filling water bottles. So--now when he isn't looking I drink our well water, but I drink a ton of bottled water too and, quite frankly, I buy whichever water is cheapest at Sam's Club.

Funny, this thread is about water.  I just bought a reverse osmosis water filter that fits under the sink a couple of days ago.  Since I have to drink a gallon a day, I thought it prudent to get the best water filter.  I have used distilled water and britta in the past, but my research led to reverse osmosis.  Anyone have information on this?

cquest, that is horrible about a salamander stuck in your hose, yuck.  You take care of yourself and the gall bladder.

Yes, 'X' being the operative word...after I left him he had to go buy a wife...no kidding, one of those Russian brides...I am 100% serious...that's messed up...

Anyway, the gallbladder thing is a definate problem...added to the stomach thing and then the liver thing...yikes...All I can say is I'm glad I'm getting to the bottom of this mess...no wonder I don't feel good! HA! I am not crazy! I guess there's always a silver lining!

I am so sorry to hear about the gall bladder issue. Perhaps you will feel a lot better if you can get it resolved, though.  Sounds like your X really shortcut all the systems for water.  Salamanders - Yuk.

I run my tap water through a filtering pitcher, and I fill bottles so that I'll have enough water for overnight. I've been drinking filtered water since I started tx. I think it might be important because I drink so much water on tx; it's a good idea to try and get some of the chemicals out of my tap water. I change the filter every two months so it doesn't breed bacteria.

Definately more natural the better if you ask me...
Thanks for the link Rock, when I am more in the mood, I will read it, I saved it.

When I lived w/ my xboyfriend, he a gravity feel well...great when the electric went out...however one time the water started flowing very slowly...very very slowly...he went to investigate and found this big ol salamander stuck in the tube...little did I know, he didn't even have a filter on the end of the water hose! Can you imagine what I had injested over the course of 5 years? This 'well' was just a natural spring that he dug out and stuck a hose in directly to the house...pretty scarey...but I'm better off than the salamander anyway...

i also drink well water-taste's great, less filling!! should be tested for choloform and such every yr or 2...Hard water-may contain excessive Iron content which "swedish studys" have shown to increase risk of heart desease in men(long term )--Water softeners add salt to your water-making it unfit for drinking- much bottled watr is just plastic packaged tap water...Chlorine is major culprit in our water-it is known carcinagenic-and levels increase as water quality plummets..longterm studys of central ny men found that 'water drinkers' (as opposed to soft drinks & even beer drinkrs) had higher incidence of colon cancer, which they attributed to chlorinated tap water ..inconclusive,but surely something to consider........Anybody want to invest in Adirondac Springwater Inc.?..i'm only half kidding...water is a major commodity that is absolutely precious-CHEERS
