Hi guys. Wish I could join the party but can't say I ever had the zzzfftt/dizziness SX that you all are referring to. If it's tinninittus (spell check), not much you can do other then Flavanoids. They are Vitamins that you find in the ear/eye section of the drug store. Had hearing loss to chemo and took them for 6 months without success. Sorry!!!!!

Yes it's a max headroom thing , I had it for only on or two day now feeling completely normal I'm at wheel 16 triple therpy I thought it was because I had finished taking the simepriver, but definitely max headroom
He found his true love at 75. That's wonderful. Will have to tear myself away from lukewarm global spaghetti soup to check that out. Neurologists often have interesting things to say. Perhaps it is the intersection between mind and matter.
Good point Odin
That's how zzzffftt got to be dizziness
It was the only thing on the list
But now that you mention it, I have been feeling a little Swordfish Trombonish lately...
Jut finished reading Oliver Sacks new autobiography (and probably his last book) On the Move
I think every doctor should be trained to pay attention to the whole of the patient. Though Dr. Sacks is a trained neurologist, his keen sense of caring and curiosity led him to understand his patients more than any doctor I have ever known - thus his brilliant Awakenings, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and the brilliant Seeing Voices
And who knew Dr. Sacks was a closeted gay man in the 50s from uptight London who found his true love at 75?
Check it out. Thoughtful, amusing and full of readable science:

Perfect for Hepper geeks
In my trial I was hoping to be able to supply information about sides. Not much opportunity really. Except to chat up the trial nurses to feed the info back to HQ. The questionnaires really limit what you can and can't say. No chance to provide floral descriptions of Riba Rage, or make the distinction between general tiredness and symptoms appearing after physical exertion. The survey designs should have input from people who have actual experience of the treatment.
Speaking of Riba Rage, I haven't really had that. Ihave noticed that the brakes are gone on expressing certain opinions though. Not entirely bad.
The SX list is always so understated and dry. You know, we could have sides like SwordFishTrombones, and Ground Truth Liquefier. People would flock towards treatment rather than being suspicious.
The phrase "well-tolerated" is the one that has me most amused (not). In the beginning I thought it meant something like like:
- does no permanent harm
- no really bad side effects
- can continue normal life
It actually means almost the opposite. Interferon is well-tolerate apparently. When I see "well-tolerated" I think uh-ohhh....
hepcandme thank you for being inclusive. It means a lot to be accepted into the world of grizzly SX even though I am not zzzfffttt-ing. I was feeling lonely stewing in VKP-juice.
(For anyone who is beyond tired and SX-ed out, please read the above with a sense of humour)
I wonder if that's because we don't tell them all the sides. This one is a minor and weird annoyance compared to others
Have fun at the concert! Maybe listening to loud music drowns out the zzzfffttt?
Or maybe just having fun makes you forget about it?
I know, isn't that something, the doctors never know the Sx, but it started exactly one week into Tx, about the same time my skin became sensitive to the sun. It became worse when I started blood thinners in January for Afib. It is a known Sx for blood thinners. Playing loud music is fun, not sure it helps. Going to the Stones concert on the 24th, have great seats near front, will let you know if loud music is the cure, hehe!
Don't feel left out - the zzzfffttt is a weird side effect that could be from Riba. Could be from Spironolactone or could be a combo of drugs
It doesn't show as a significant side for any of those drugs but who knows what happens when you combine them? I may also be a bit anemic from low HMG
My doc doesn't have a clue but I reached out to some musician friends who often suffer from Tinnitus
One recommended Tom Waits played Really loud for an hour or more a day!!!
haven't given that a shot yet...
In my case it was probably the Riba, can't answer for Harvoni.
Is zzzfffttt a Harvoni thing? I have fear of losing the ground under my feet falling over not quite spinning out dizzy. No zzzfffttt-ing. Feel left out... Aawww.
No thank you.! got all I need, but thanx for the offer, lol
good morning all ;) I have the same thought, and feelings, as hepc4 has, not dizzy and falling or anything like that, just s_p_a_c_e_y! and the, zzzffttt's and if you think, it is a Dr's..??, then it usually is, and don't be afraid to ask, there is NO! silly question.... silly answers ahhhh! maybe, hope your day goes well and the same to all
............ W.E.
Yup, the zzzfffttt sound, it started a week into Tx, and I have had it ever since. Tinnitus I think it is called. Hard to focus sometimes. I am going camping in a week, so am hoping some time in the great outdoors will help. Have had some hearing loss. It is worse at night and if it is too quiet. Am taking Vitamin C with flavinoids, it seems to help some. But not dizzy like spinning around.
That's closer to what I am feeling than "dizziness"
buzzing if buzzing sounds like: zzzffttt - like a little electrical charge going off in your brain
I think of dizzy as being when the world is turning around - like when you used to spin around really fast when you were a kid and then fall down in the grass
I still have the buzzing in my ears, it makes me feel spaced out sometimes. Not dizzy really, not losing my balance if that is what you mean. But spacey. Is that what you mean?
