Do ADD drugs adversely effect Hep C livers such as Ritalin?

My pscych recently put me on Dexedrine (hated) and now Ritalin. I am HCV+ but not yet in treatment with pretty good numbers.

Should I be avoiding these drugs with respect to my HCV status?

i wouldn't think so......in fact i have just seen my liver dr. 2 wks ago...did shot #42 last nite....i have gone back to the insomia and he said he could try ritalin with me to try to help with the problem. i told him i would try a sleeping pill instead. good luck w/ your treatment. don't give up! almost done 2.

Dexedrine and Ritalin are both forms of speed.  What does your pscych,(head srinker?), know about livers. Everything that you consume is toxic to and is detoxified by the liver.  Talk to your GI, only he knows what is and isn't appropriate for you based on your biopsy and/or your lab work.

why would your doctor give you ritalin for sleep it's like speed. just curious.

Sorry I was confussed {BRAIN FOG!!!} He said sleeping pill @ nite and then ritalin for day time...for energy. I apologize.

WE are told that speed and cocaine are the worst things for our livers, so why would the legalised versions (Dexadrine and Ritalin) be any less harmful?

With respect guys ... I wouldn't take Ritalin or any in that group of drugs if they paid me, seriously it accelerates Hep-C & liver damage .... it's equivelant to putting Gro-Plus on your plants ... steer clear of them & holy cow how could they possibly help someone sleep ....  Bye for now all .... I just had shot 9 & I'm going ok ... phew hahaha
