Does anyone else have to pay so much for there meds

Hi everyone just thought I would ask. I have been on treatment for 10 weeks now and my meds are about 200 dollars a month. To me its almost as much as a car payment ya know. Of coarse its worth it but I was just wondering if anyone elses pegasys is as expensive as mine is with my insurance. Mind you I work for the hospital and I still pay 150.00 each time I refill my pegasys. Take care and agian I am not complaining its well worth it. I mean I have health insurance and my husband and I only make so much money and to top it off we have 4 kids. So to us its alot financial and it doesnt help he is bipolar and we fork out about 150 for his meds a month to. I gues the positive thing about all this is I only have till november and then I wont be shelling out so much.Has anyone heard of a program that helps people based on income and not if you have health insurance or not?????

After my insurance paid their part, my copay was $400 a month for mine.  Being a single mom there is no way that I could afford that so I called the Roche Pagassist Resource Center at 877-734-2797.  It is based on family size and income.  All I had to do was answer some questions, fax in my income tax papers from last year and have my doctor sign a form with the script.  They ended up picking up the whole thing so now I get my meds each month with no cost.  Give them a try...it's definately worth the phone call.  If that one doesn't work I have the names of a few more places that might help.  Just let me know if you need the phone numbers.  Good luck.

I don't mean to scare you - but without insurance you're looking at about 2000.00 a month for meds.

With insurance - you're getting quite the deal.

However - you CAN get help with Roche or Makers of Infergen. OK?

YOu just have to go to their websites - and they can give you assistance with either insurance or without insurance.

They can write it off in tax dollars and it looks really good for them - but you have to fall within a certain income category.

Much luck to you either way.

Usaully the drug company will help you depending on your income.  Also you might want to try Partnership for Prescriptions, better known as
PAP.  there toll free # is 1-800-762-4636 ot you can visit there web site at www.rxassit.org.  There is another place that had helped me in the past and that was Needy Meds, www.needymeds.com or depending what types of meds you are taking go straight to who makes the medication.

Good  luck,
