Stage 1- Mild fibrosis- scarring

Stage 2- Moderate fibrosis-scarring

Stage 3- Extensive fibrosis

Stage 4- Cirrhosis

SOrry he was so sick soon after his meds. Treatment is a long journey and we must take it day by day sometimes hour by hour. I personally diidnt have side effects till week 5=6 and remained basically on the couch for 52 weeks due to low hemoglobin I couldnt do anything. However...some of us have VERY easy sides, some moderate some severe.
You really have to find LOTS of patience to get thru this -between all the time gone by depending on how long your treating is a rough deal in itself-then the labs every few weeks and all that this diease entails can be stressful.
I just got off 52 weeks of treament a few months ago and had a pretty hard time with fatigue, low HGB , skin issues, sores and hair loss. etc. AND ANGER ISSUES.
PLEASE KNOW that NOT EVRYONE has the same side effects and WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT. Please take one day at a time DRINK LOTS of liquids and MAK E SURE
you have labs done every couple of weeks to monitor HGB etc.
Basically you will have your good days and not so good days.
I wish you the best.
Someone here will post JanisHepc link I dont have it- However its a very helpful link when starting treatment. Try to google it.

Make sure he takes every shot and every pill as scheduled.  He cannot take a 'little time' off from treatment, ever, even if he feels like dog do-do.

I personally also had chills and body aches really bad my first few shots after about 2 hours.  Mine did get better with time.  Drink plenty of water and take ibuprofen before shots helped me.  I also did the shot on a friday night about 7 pm with ibuprofen and a xanax.  That way, I could bundle up and sleep through alot of it.

Best of luck!  You have found a great source here for your questions and concerns.

I was told to use Tylenol with the shots because it's better for fevers.
