Dosage of Rebetol???

I went in for my 12 week results checkup yesterday. My Gastro. MD. told me that he had just come back from a very good seminar/lecture on tx.  He stated to me that I could cut back on the Rebetol, since new test have found that the 1,200 dosage does no better than does 800mg?  So as of yesterday he told me to cut my dosage back to 800 even though I am a man who weighs about 215lbs. Has anyone else heard of anything like this?  

Other than that he said my treatment is going well. The big numbers were not in yet, but my white counts and hemogloben, etc. were just the tiniest bit low, but well within the good range. Thank you all for your prayers.
