I went to a web site to look up Dr. Robert Gish and they talked about 12 week pcr.(nothing sooner) It was an old website, is that his standard of care now? You didn't talk much about what you learned from him. I think everyone is asleep or off the web. My insomnia is starting to kick in. Didn't have it till this week. I take shot 4 Friday.
thanks
You live near me? Which lake, Mendocino or Sonoma?
Thanks for the offer of non-alcoholic wine but I'm a purist. I don't drink decafe' either.
Do you still see Gish's gang? Have you treated?
Hey, My daughter is dating a guy with a cabin in Tahoe. I haven't been in years but it rates as one of the most beautiful places in the world, in my book.
I looked into seeing Gish's gang. I didn't out of sheer laziness, something else was closer and easier. But if I run into difficulties I'll be running down to CPMC.
I spent July 4th in Lakeport. I live to the West.
Wakil works with Dr. Gish in the same department. His office is very near Gish'. Wakil is a specialist in immunology. That is the main reason I went with him. He is very open, cares about what a patient has to contribute and seems straightforward.
I went to him for a second opinion on extending tx after 48 weeks. In my circumstance he said no extension needed. I have been post tx negative through 3 months. I have progressively felt better, but at 4 1/2 months to the present, I have been experiencing major headaches. I am worried about what is up. If I test, it costs money. If I wait for another 5 weeks, I am hoping, if I am positive, that there would not be huge liver damage during that period. Naturally, always living in fear with this ride. The best in the new year to the wonderful people on this forum!
doc walkil wont let me tx until I lose 35 pounds 220 fore me ill look like a marathon runner but that gets rid of places fore the virus to hide and will keep my blood sugar right I cant seem to lose the wait
I think it would be highly unlikely you would incur much damage in that timeframe. Extremely unlikely. Also, I believe that nearly all relapsed would show by 3 months, so I think that test hold you in good stead. I doubt the headaches are related to relapse. Sounds to me like you're good to go. Try to relax if you can.
Great News! That was a good idea about upping the riba. They told me the same, except now they say not too. My CBC's have leveled out and I am UND w/ the TMA! I just got the call just now in Tahoe! Of course I am happy, happy, happy! I bet you are too. I really like the CPMC.
It is beautiful here in Tahoe. We have a house on a creek and there is snow everywhere and sunny today. Yesterday, I made it to the casino for a few hours and won $1500. on video poker! Then passed out at 5 PM for the night.
Hope everyone is having a nice after Christmas week!
does your doc want you to go down to 220lbs or lose 35 and go down to 185? may i ask how tall you are? my doc did not say he would not treat but i wanted to lose some weight for myself because they say it is better for tx. thanks and happy new year
I used to go to Dr. Gish, Wakil and Dr. Doo of the same Pacific Medical Center. I never did get to see Dr. Gish because he was always in S.F. But I saw the other doctors about 4 different times. That was a few years ago when I didn't want treatment.
I'm in treatment now and I need people with more knowledge than just a G.I. for my special situation. After an initial 2 1/2 log drop, my viral load went up 166 points from 4 weeks to 11 weeks. The nurse practitioner is sending me another slip to get another VL before our first appointment. I'm in Sacramento. If the doctors or N.P. here need Dr. Gish's input they can get a hold of him by phone or email ASAP. They are on top of these situations.
orphanehalk It's clear lake I treated at the V A I was a lab rat on some Berkley tests fore Pegasus +antapheron in 02 cleared In 90 days came back 90 days after 12 month tx
Has he given any help on how to lose the weight? Losing weight is so hard! I gained 40 lbs on antidepressants, I've lost 25 but it's taken a year and some medication help.
Good luck.

me and my old lady live up the road from you at the lake some wine rooms have non alcaholic wine you do not have to go without
SFgirl went to him and mentioned it on this forum and how much more he knew than her other doctor. Dr. Gish knows how to deal with your VL going up 166 points from week 4 to 11. His NP said there are several options. I think she wants me to take more riba.
I ment he! is a good docter
Dr. Gish is very smart. He also is the co-author of the Hep C Help Book.
doc gish is very smart she's a good choice
