I am really not sure, but I don't see why you have to reduce the Peg at this point.  Your WBC is at 2.2?  Mine has only been over 2 about 4 times during treatment and I am at week 51/56.  I have been taking Neup once a week since October. My hemotologist nurse would be happy if I would do it twice a week too, but lets me stay at one since I have not gotten sick and no signs of infection.  What are your absolute neutrophils?  Mine run between .8 and .5 with the Neup.

Yeah, I don't see why they would want to lower your meds at 2.2.. Why WBC was NEVER over the 2, for the entirity of my 48 week treatment. I was at lowest, 1.2, and hovered around 1.7..
ANC is what you need to check out. Mine got as low as 602.. I believe most Dr's intervene at 500..

My doc was makin a pretty big deal outta the fact that mine went down to a 3 but said to just not go shopping at the mall or anything. It seems like our docs dont agree very much on the "numbers"

ANC (absolute neutrophils) is what really matters. Do you have a neutrophil count?

I have done as many as three Neup a week.  Ask him to increase it to two a week.  Anything except reduce dosage.

I agree with what everyone has said. My WBC is about 1.2 and abs neuts were .6 or 600 last week. My GI wanted me to reduce peg and I told him NO, that I was taking Neulasta from the Hemotologist. It then went up to normal. Of course it went back down and I expect it will continue to throughout tx. But I agree with you that you have come to far to cut down the peg now. Take more neupogen or neulasta , if you have to. I hate the sx, but I want SVR!

I am at 36 wks and have low wbc counts. I am taking Nupogen once a wk. I should be taking it 2 times a week, but elected to do once. Unless your sx are unbearable, i would not reduce interferon. I have read, I believe from jmjm, that the standard for Nupogen is based on cancer patients.

My ANC has bounced around during treatment. My doctor will lower dosage to 150 from 300 if I go to high. He tells me to high is as bad as to low. I'm staying at around 1800 on the ANC and have gone as low as 300. Variations in Meds is sometimes required to keep you on treatment. Good luck. Dale
