Dry, itchy, flaky scalp post treatment and thinning hair

Anyone have recommendations for my sons complaints. He is almost 4 months post treatment and has changed numerous shampoos and condtioners. He has used Nixon with little results. Cannot think of any other remedies. His next step is a dermatologist. Any suggestions. Thank you.
