Dry Eyes

I went to have an eye exam this past Thursday, told the doc I was taking INF for Hep C and wanted a baseline.  He told me he had just seen another patient treating with INF.  He asked me if my eyes were dry and I told him no, but ever since they put the dilating drops in my eyes they have been dry!

Anyone experience this?  What do you use to help.

Thanks!

Linda

I drink 10-12 glasses of water a day but look at a PC all day too.  I have dry eyes so I use  Systain eye drops.  They really are the best for dry eyes.

totally agree with NYG. It's all about water. 2 liters per day minimum and need to use saline solution for the dry sinuses.
In fact, I'm going to buy moisturizing eyedrops asap

I wear contacts so I use regular old saline to wash them out and special drops for contact wearers.

We get SO DEHYDRATED on tx that it figures the one place we need moisture would go south fast.  Sometimes I have to wake up at night and put some in.

Drinking more water might help too.  It's all about hydration.

i find the Genteal eye gel is the best with no preservatives.   im ultrasensitive to lubricating drops and this one will not bother me.

Good for you SVR, and you are so young with your whole life ahead of you. I am happy for you. And I too have sinus issues, I thought it was the dry air or allergies, I do use a humidifier. But now I wonder if sinus issues are a sx from tx.
Did yours get better when you got off the meds?

Thanks for the information.  I have been having something like sinus headaches and a runny nose.  The air here has been very dry here the past few days, the barometer is very high so I'm hoping when the air becomes less dry my headaches will subside.  It's not really bad - just annoying mostly.

robbetz - Congratulations on SVR!!!

Lindy, it's a pretty common side effect. Get some good moisturing drops (not Visine!) that helps. Hope it eases up soon.

OH, I had the headaches, I think they are pretty common. They did improve greatly over time. I get them far less frequently now. Hang in there. I found wearing sunglases ( even indoors) helped. Noise was another aggravator. Quiet helped too as do head massage.
