Dry Nose Sx

by sgabb, Nov 25, 2004 12:00AM
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
I have a question about my Sx's.  I am on 2/24 and so far have felt very little sides.  The last day or so though my nostriks have dried out and gotten extreamly painful.  I am trying to drink lots of water, but it seems I remember a few weeks back someone mentioning bloody noses and dry sinuses.  I looked back over and can not seem to find them. Anyone have any suggestions? So far my Sx's have been extreamly light, but reading these posts tonight it looks like I have a lot of fun coming up.  My wife just seems to think I have a defeatist attitude by saying things may get worse.  Ah well, I hope we all have a good weekend!

Ocean nasal spray, or Ayr saline gel.. Bothe are excellent, and sold over the counter.. Will definately give you some relief.

I had to use a humidifier as well as saline nasal spray. I bought one of the ultrasonic versions, combined with a hot shower would turn my bathroom into a sauna. My upper respiratory system dried out as well.

I used a humidifier in my bedroom while sleeping.  It made a big difference along with saline spray and gel.

I have to continually fight the bloody, dry sinuses.  I have used ocean spray and ayr, but they seem to burn my nose (like jumping into a swimming pool).  I have found vaseline on a q-tip rubbed inside the nose helps a trememdous amount along with a humidifier works for me.  And I sometimes use an allegra.  Hope dry sinuses is all you have to put up with during tx.  Good luck.

thanks for the responces, I will look for both at the store later.  Along with the nose, my tear ducts are now swelling up and it feels like I have been punched in both eyes, and yes I will feel blessed if these are the worst sides I feel. Hope evefryone had a good thanksgiving yeteerday!
