D'urrrr. I win this week's stupid award.

I bought a pill box before tx and fill it on Saturdays. There are two compartments per day. Every morning at 8, I take a stomach pill and 600 riba. At night, it's a little trickier. I put all of my PM pills in there. At 6 P, I take more stomach pills and another unrelated drug. I leave 600 riba in there with my sleeper and take them later at 8 P. I leave the lid popped so I will remember to take the rest. I used to put the pills on top of the box, but then my beloved suggested that the cat might bat them and that one of the dogs might eat it, so now I leave the lid popped.

This worked really well for 12 weeks. Lately I've been feeling like I was hit by a semi. Physically not as bad with sx, but way more fatigued and foggy.

This morning I was about to shove a cracker with cashew butter and a bit of milk in my face with AM pills before dashing to work. Ruh-ro. I didn't take my pills last night. I took 800 riba this morning instead and then popped another 200 with lunch. Should I take another 800 tonight (instead of the usual 600) or just fehgetaboutit?

I was too worried to call my doctor to tell her I screwed up, especially since I plan to begin my plea to extend next week when we review my last PCR.

I know. This question gets asked a lot but I'm a wee bit concerned about taking 1800 riba in one day.

You took all other doses except one of 600,  so splitting lat night's missed dose and adding it to today's1200 is 1500. You've in fact aready taken 1600 today, so if you opt for the split dose route, you've already done that and then some. So according to the split dose fans, you're in.

Sorry for cluttering the forum with my bad arithmetic but I thought I'd bring your post to the top so that some of the gurus could comment, given your question is time-sensitive. I'm sure they'll add not to worry, one way or another.

No, thank you!  That answered my question.  I couldn't remember what I'd read here - whether to double, skip or take part of the dose.  I think I'll just stick with the extra 400 I took today, and forget the extra 200 tonight. I'll do my usual 600 after dinner. The thought of 1800 for the day was a little scary. I appreciate your input!

LOL! I'm with you on that one. Unfortunately, that would be the relationship breaker.

forgive me, sunqueen, i forgot you took your yesterday's dosage, so in fact splitting the missed dose would be a question of splitting only 600, which you've already done. sorry if i piped in without thinking, which I hardly ever do but just wanted to reply before your deadline tonight. must go, actually made a fancy dinner tonight and don't want it to dry out. hugs and best wishes with your decision. I will leave counting for another day.

actually, when i look at my numbers, they don't reconcile. 1200 +  1/2 of 1200 = 1800, which is what you are thinking of doing by taking the extra 200 tonight. so that would be splitting the difference, as some people here recommend.  I have no idea if that's too much - it just seems like an awful lot of rbvn considering how much i hate that stuff. Good luck with making your decision.

Is your question whether to take 1800 today or to take 1600, instead of your usual 1200?

You've taken two thirds of your yesterday's missed dosage with your  today's routine dosage. Some people here recommend splitting the difference and you've already done more than that.  Splitting the difference would be good enough for me. The doctor would likely have said to just forget the missed dose (and there was only one, the evening 600 one) and carry on as usual. Some here might suggest you double dose but at 1800, I wouldn't.

I could be wrong but I think the ribavirin is more crucial at the beginning of treatment, so if you're at week twelve, this may be less significant. Hope others can advise you soon, since you take your next dose in two hours.
