EOT - ALT has shot up!!

by snadge, Nov 07, 2009 08:07PM
i was not allowed to do 72 weeks and have finished my 48 wk stint - after 4 days off the riba + inf I went into hospital for EOT tests LFT/Bloods/PCR

my ALT 4 weeks before finishing tx was 39  and 45 four weeks before that one...

now 4 days off Tx i started to feel great - until i got my bloods/LFT back that is...

my ALT is a whopping 58....

no dressing it up please but is this a bad sign? -  im being told its rehab but ive just looked at 3 others ALT who just finished recently and theirs never budged after finishing and all stayed under 25

don't sweat it. it happens to some of us and doesn't mean you relapsed. If it will make you feel better do a post 4 & 12 week PCR test.

best of luck

copyman is correct.  sometimes that just happens, it is the pcr test that tells the truth

That happened to me also, my 5 month post tx ALT/AST tests were double what they were EOT but my 6 month PCR came back undetected (ie: SVR).  I know how worrying it is though so I would suggest you get a 4 week EOT PCR for peace of mind.  All the best!

58 is not high. According to my lab, its within the normal range.
Don't worry.
