Ears Ringing

I am having a problem with my ears ringing the last 2 weeks.  It seems to be getting more consistent.  I just finished 9/24 last night.  I have been doing very well.  Eating well and not extremely tired.  Which has been great. But, this ringing is starting to drive me crazy.  Anyone had this problem and what can it take?

This ringing drives me crazy and it is tx related. I might have it for the rest of my life. Sometimes it tapers off but if I am having a migraine it seems magnified. I have also been diagnosed with hypersensitive hearing. I have always been able to hear a gnat cut the cheese on a telephone pole and now it seems like an explosion. If I had to do it all over I don't think I would take interferon. I asked was there any side effect that I haven't had. I do have a question since I couldn't post. Do any of you have problems when flying? I can only travel this way and I feel horrible afterwards. My ears drive me crazy, my head hurts, I can't take my Lasix so I swell even more, and I have difficulty breathing. Last time I flew it was really rough and I had been upgraded to first class and when I asked why I was told I didn't look too hot. I am going to my son's for a break since I can't stand that moron I am married to. Pray for my disability so I can leave. I do not want to take the trial drug living here. Allen still refuses to give me back my guns and to a Texan that is a sacred right. I do feel better and thanks for noticing. I am doing what I do best, being a nurse.

I Have had ringing in my ear's "Tinnitus" since I was a kid. I have lost alot of hearing in the high frequency range. I use to do alot of skeet shooting and didn't wear hearing protection. (((Dumb)))!!!!
It seems like alot of people with loss of hearing in the high frequency range suffer suffer from "Tinnitus".
I did not notice that TX made any differance, if it did I was preoccupied by other SX and did not notice it.
I belive know you must get use to the ringing because if I listen for the ringing it really bothers me, but usually It doesnt even bother me, even though it is there.

Hi Scott.

Ya, I blame myself for letting the Dr's lull me into a false since of security. Beliving that I had 15-30 years before I needed to worry. It was easyer for me to handle mentally. Had one of those Dr said your liver is getting worse all the time and we don't know the speed at which it is dieing I would have searched for some kind of therapy to get it treated.

Glad things worked out so well between you and Cindy. Its great to have a long term interferion junky here.

                  God Bless,

                      TonyZ

As Indiana said I had really bad tinnitus at one time - the worst was about two months after I finished tx. I went for hearing tests and it was found I had lost a bit of the ability to hear high pitch sounds in my left ear. Eighteeen months later the ringing is not as bad as it once was.....or maybe I've just got used to it!!

i've had the ear ringing and it for me gets better with a good night sleep...the longer i can make myself sleep the better my hearing and eyesight are...of course "sleep" is a "vanishing species" at this time for me...i seem to only get 4 hours a night...no wonder why i can't see or hear...i actually had to get glasses for my first time in my life recently...

my hearing is messed up and one time the ringing got so loud it woke me up out of a sound sleep...i thought i had the window open and the locusts were singing thier heads off...the only problem with this idea was that it was the dead of winter out there at the time...yikes...that was surreal...

if it's any consulation for you this has greatly diminished these days and i am on tx for 6+ months now...i would think that our hearing will return to normal after tx...cause it is said that most things return to normal for most people...

i'm not sure if there is anything that can be done about it though...just talk to a specialist...

I sent you an e-mail about this but I will post here for the others to see too.
Yes....this is probably tx related. Tx can cause something called..."Tinnitus". This is a documented side and "can" be permanent. Britgirl had this.
Here are some links to places that can explain it better....

While this ringing could be useful for drowning out a bitchin Spouse, I don't thik it's something you really want to keep.
Get they buns to a doctor and have this checked out fast. I'd hate to see ya lose your hearing.
