Elebated GammaGT and Alt, non drinker

Good morning,

Recent blood work has indicated a persistent high GammaGt at about 92, ALT at 104, ALP normal at 107.

I have had a very painful knee for the last month; x-ray non significant findings.

Would there be any link ???  I have never abused alcohol nor do I now.  I have an occasional (2-3oz) of wine with dinner; sometimes months between; and cetainly never than twice a month.

Thanks for any help.

GGT  is another liver enzyme marker used for a doctor ,in conjunction with other liver panel tests to see if something may be wrong with the liver or possibly disease.

Yours is slightly elevated as is the ALT....why did your doc do these tests in the first place ?...does he suspect some liver disease ....possibly HCV and is he doing further tests?.

Until the  reason for the elevated enzymes is solved   abstinence from all alcohol would be a good idea.

good luck

Will
