Elevated Liver Enzmes ?

i've been taking physicals since as far back as i can remember
and every time i always take blood tests. And my liver enzymes
always came up elevated i'm 33 years old now and i've
been checking up on liver enzymes and i'm a little unsure
of what the doctors have been telling me they all say its a little raise but there is no need to worry.
my last visit to a new doctor he told me to come back in 3 months to check again. this time he said to stay off the alcohal (alcohol)
which i defenitaly intead to do.
my question is why did the doctors always say not to worry in
the past?
