Endescope

Everyone here had so much knowledge, and is so helpful, I had to ask one more question. My husband goes in on friday morning for a endescope. They said they were going to band some varacies, and do a possible biopsy. I understand what was ment by band the varacies, but what on earth are they going to biopsy? I didn't even think to ask the doctor at the time. Also how can I expect him to feel afterwards, he is a huge baby :) and what can I do to make him more comfortable? Thankyou in advance for any help on this. :)

thank you all :) I appreciate the words of wisdom. I was pretty nervous about what was going to be done to my hubby, but I guess this is one thing i don't need to turn grey over  :)

I've had a couple endoscopy's also, no pain what so ever. The possible biopsy is just if something is found as Bill said.Standard procedure, no worries.

My personal experience with endoscopy was uneventful; no pain or discomfort whatsoever. I also didn’t require any banding, however.

Without specifics, it’s hard to tell what biopsy they were referring to. They might be considering liver biopsy, or they could also biopsy any suspicious anomalies they find in the esophagus, should something present. I suspect the later, if they haven’t discussed otherwise.

Good luck, and let us know how things go,

I have had a few of these done, never needed any banding though. Felt fine afterwords even went out for lunch. This might explain it more, best to you.
