Enlarged thyroid?

Was at my hep doctor yesterday,he was feeling my neck and wondered  if my thyroid was enlarged, then he discounted it saying I was probably just skinny, so things are more likely to stick out on my neck. I was distracted at the time ( thinking about my upcoming anemia test, hoping there would be no dose reduction), but when I got home I  remembered that I just asked my hubby the other day if my neck looked funny. I saw a picture of a thyroid and yes that is exactly the area of my neck that looks funny. What should I do? What sort of tests are there to check? Anybody else experience this?

I contracted hep c from a transfusion in '75 and in '84 had a quarter sized goiter.  They removed the left lobe, I did have difficulty swollowing.  That I believe is one of my first symptoms, but nobody knew about hep c at that time.  I hope this is helpful.

I already had a goiter for years and it improved with hep. C tx. Call your doctor and mention it to his nurse.

any good hep doc should automatically test the thyroid on all bloodwork pre tx ,during tx & post tx.
