Enzyme levels

When a person has cirrhosis, are ast and alt levels both raised?  My husband has only slightly raised alt levels (58).  Do both levels have to be up to indicate cirrhosis?

My husband has cirrhosis and his live enzymes went from 11.4 to 13.   What is normal?

My husband learned in July, 2007 that he has cirrhosis.   His liver enzymes count went from 11.4 to 13.   What is normal count for enzymes.    Is there anything he can take to help liver.   His drinking days are over and I need to know what I can give him to help his liver.

if your husband has cirrhosis, get him to a hepatologist pronto!  do not delay.

'Normal' level of alt, for a male, is 0 to 55. Normal ast is 0 to 40.
