When do you do eot pcr, 1 week after last shot or last pill?

I just have a question here. What purpose does an EOT PCR serve?

I believe it is not necessary, 'cause the only thing it will tell is that one has not had a break through. If one does a PCR 4weeks post, it will tell if or if not one has relapsed.

Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

It will differentiate between relapse and viral breakthrough in the case of failed treatment. This information can be valuable in terms of future treatment.

Viral breakthough is relatively uncommon, so if one has periodic UND's throughout tx, then an EOT test may be somewhat academic. That said, EOT is a marker point, and no reason not to include it in your viral load schedule.

If you have no intention of re-treating right away and assuming that you have maintained undetectability for a long span of time the significance of an eot pcr is less meaningful.  If that's the case a well-timed pcr, about a month after last riba, will give you a pretty good indication.  In addition, a pcr at a month out can soothe some jangled nerves.

I'm confused, I'm genotype 2b did mono treatment 15 yrs ago.I just did 16th shot Pegasys @ 1200mg riba daily. My dr did baseline pcr 1630000 next pcr @ 12 weeks und , now he wants one @ 24 weeks to finish treatment. So should I do pcr 3-13 @ last shot or 3-20 @ last pill or wait 1 month from last pill.

Has my Dr. screwed me up with his protocol of no 4 week pcr ? What are my chances of beating this hcv with 12 week und pcr and gen type 2 with 24 weeks of treatment?

depends what you want to accomplish. testing seven days after your last injection is an EOT test. Testing one month post tx is your one month post tx test. I did both. Geno 2B's have around an 80% chance of SVR so that's probably what your odds are.
