Everyone

I answered some threads to swimmer and to Gerry and others but not sure if they got posted.  I just wanted to say that I got all my meds and only 30 days to go. YEA!  If it was not for this forum I would not had made it through as I have a crummy doc and nurse and very little friends and I am single and work 2 jobs and keep a big house up inside and out by myself.  There where days I wanted to punch someone in the face or crying and needed a hug and then the next day fine and out mowing my grass.  It has been a roller coaster year and wanted to stop at 36 weeks but this forum kept pushing me and I am almost there.  I have no personal life as that time is spent at the doctors or doing my labs or just laying down watching TV resting.  I have become a TV nut!!!!  I was fortunate and never missed work except at the 2nd month into treatment I got a bug and ran a very high fever for over a week and almost had to stop treatment so I had to miss work for that but otherwise I dragged myself to the shower every morning after sitting for an hour to gain strength and get going for the day.  Thank you everyone and those right behind me just take one day at a time and it will be over soon!!!!!

I am done with my 48 weeks of 3x  Yea!  How long until that medicine gets out of your system?  How long until your blood goes back to normal?  When do they do my viral load?  My doctor is lame and the nurse has been asking for weeks with no answer

I finish my 48 weeks on Friday.  What happens now?  As you know my doctor and nurse do not have answers for me during the whole treatment.  I just get my labs and decided if I do a shot of nuepogen or not but my platelets are getting very low.  They where not able to test them on my labs 2 weeks ago and it said the blood clotted and to redo.  I had my labs done yesterday and the lab girl told me that was because they where so low.  Anyway after my treatment is done Friday how quickly will that medicine get out of my system?  Also when do they check my viral load again?  I do my routine labs in 2 weeks so would they check them then?   Also do you think 2 weeks is time for my blood to return to normal. I almost stopped my medicine today as I figured that 4 days would not make a difference and I do not want my blood to get too bad.  My sister talked me into taking the last 4 days but really does it make a difference at this point?

Angel, so happy you were able to get  your medicine.  It will be over soon and just a bad memory.
I am amazed that you are working 2 jobs.  I could not have worked one, you are doing an amazing tx.
Best wishes
Dee
p.s. yes, they should check your vl when you get to the end of 48 weeks.

Thank you for your answer again  You mean they will not check my viral load after my 48 weeks?.  I have to wait another 24 weeks to find out if it is still gone.  It makes no sense to me to check at 3 months then 6 months and then never not again until 9 months later.  I would of thought they would check at 36 weeks and if it was not working take me off the meds so I would not had to go 48 weeks.  Or check at the end of the 48 weeks.  So you are (SVR).  FANTASTIC!!!!!When did you complete treatment and will they check you again?

Sustained virological response (SVR) is usually defined as continued undetectable HCV viral load 24 weeks after completion of therapy.  Some say 6 months after end of treatment (eot).

You are welcome. Thank you for your well wishes. I achieved SVR as of April 8, 2013. I did triple tx with boceprevir, 28 weeks total.
Besides not feeling well on the meds, the anxiety of dealing with drug deliveries, insurance co. Blood tests... So much to do right, oh and the messed up brain. I read a lot of posts and respond if I think I can be helpful.

I'll be watching for your good results!
Cheers,
C

I am so glad you got your meds. It was very frustrating for me when I was on tx and I only had 28 weeks. I too, really needed the support of this group, and it made tx bearable, having help by people who understood the ins and outs. Someone was always around to help!
Smooth sailing, it will all be over soon.

You should be extremely proud of yourself.  This isn't for the weak and you are almost done.  I don't know how you pulled all that off.  It's amazing what
we can do when we want something so much.  I'm impressed!!!! : )

Hang in there
