Exposure Risk

A little back story long story short about 2 years ago I came back positive for the antibodies of Hep C and had a viral test done and took it to a specialist who said there was no virus. That I was one of the lucky 15% who must have fought it off. I still have some anxiety but that is another story for a different time. My question is I live with 2 of my buddies and share a bathroom with one. I know they say you should not share razors and toothbrushes which we do not but we keep our toothbrushes in the same cup. Is it possible that just the toothbrushes touching could cause an exposure or would it have to be using the others toothbrush directly.  What is the exposure risk?Thank you for any input let me know if you need any further detail.

Thanks again.

Domestic transfer in a household is extremely rare to non existent. It requires blood to blood contact and would be most likely a result of direct, through-the-skin exposure to the blood of an infected household member. Yes it is recommended not to share personal items i.e. tooth brush, razors, nail clippers, etc.  Anything that could carry blood. If you have concerns keep your brush in another area.

But basically you have almost zero risk.

Best wishes
