Extremely scared...

Hello I am having issues with upper right quadrant pain that is around my liver area and I have all the other symptoms half/half nails, tingling hands and feet, night sweats sometimes, rapid heart beat etc. I have not been diagnosed with hcv but I am extremely worried, for a long time I thought that maybe I had hiv but tested negative several times. I have a wonderful fiancé and a beautiful daughter... I need to live well and need them to as well. I have had such crazy symptoms for several years and I'm only 26. I have tattoos and piercings that would be my only possible way of exposure. How did you all know you may have hcv? How did u find out? Does this sound like reasonable worry?

As I like to say, you have nothing to worry about until you have something to worry about.
Diagnostics is a process of elimination.
Don't take over the counter herbal, vitamin or mineral supplements until you are diagnosed with something. IF you are diagnosed with something.
Anxiety and stress, worry, OCD etc are very real illnesses too.
Just worry if the needle is going to hurt when you have a blood test. that's enough.
All the best.

Yeah I have about 30 of the symptoms listed but I also blame being post-menopausal, myopic, having hypo-thyroidism, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, mitral valve prolapse, two kids + husband, old age and working hard & playing hard.  Why put yourself through all that worry?
The hep C is only confirmed by getting tested and the good news is you are really super young and there are great treatments coming.  I would say most of us never knew we had it till we got test results.

I have the same pain. My liver specialist told me it's most likely the gallbladder because the liver does not feel pain unless it is extremely swollen or its just a muscle.... I have a 4 year old daughter and I hold her on my right side. I get the pain all the time. My liver is fine, no damage.

All the symptoms mentioned by hrsepwrguy could be symptoms of hundreds of other illnesses.
They are broad and non specific.
Get tested for HepC. Ask for a PCR RNA test. You'll know once and for all.
You only know you have HCV when you get tested. Makes sense?
HepC doesn't ruin people's lives necessarily. Many people are cured, and especially these days the odds have improved dramatically.
Anxiety is your biggest worry. See your doctor about that too.
Calm down.
Working yourself up into a frenzy does no one any good.
Good luck.

The symptoms you mention could be from many things besides hep C.
GO get tested, and put your mind to rest.Better yet, talk to your doctor.

Nobody on the internet can diagnose what is disturbing you.
Who cares what others think ? We don't know you and we aren't doctors.

If it makes you feel better, I lost my liver to hep C and did not have your symptoms.

I know it's the only way but I was wondering what others thought. I am extremely afraid of what the answer may be. It could ruin my entire life and I wouldn't understand why it happened to me :/

"Does this sound like reasonable worry?"

Sure I think everyone should get tested.

"How did you all know you may have hcv?"

Most of us had no idea until we got tested

"How did u find out?"

Got tested

You should see a doc concerning your symptoms, they could be caused by many things it is impossible to diagnose you on the internet.

If your worried you have HCV get tested it is the only way to know for sure

Have a great day
