FATS?

Good Morning,

I have been looking up foods that are high in fat. What have you found to be good and tolerable.

I enjoyed Greek God's honey yogurt (9gm/1/2cup) and Bare naked Original granola (14gm/1/2cup) so much that I still eat it for breakfast 12 weeks after finishing incivek.  My God, I had so much trouble finding something I could swallow in the morning without puking.  This was a real breakthrough for me.

Our favorite was Flora Udo's Chocolate Truffle bars.  Hazelnut was my husband's favorite.  Delicious, and high in really healthy fat.  It was the only thing he could tolerate toward the end of the INC part of tx.  Someone here found them on Amazon for a really great price.  I still eat them now!

Everyone is different and what they can eat.It seemed that 1 wk I could eat pizza next wk it made me sick. Peanut butter yummy next wk blah. You have to find something that helps you. If I would have known this but yogurt with fruit and granola 20g of fat. When I couldn't eat I drank ensure with 2 cups of whole milk and boom 20g of fat. It helped me threw a lot of bad days. I hope you find something that helps you.

This is a wonderful list!  I just started my therapy on the 29th (of March) - I'd been looking and actually, just started writing things down.  But I saw there were 39 comments to my question of what foods to eat.

Thanks so much!  (Funny, it took me 3 years to take off 27lbs; then, I have to eat this stuff.  But like you said, it's only for 12 weeks.  And I eat good food, too.)  You're wonderful for posting such an extensive list.

Eat a meal or snack that contains 20 grams of fat, within 30 minutes before you take each dose of Incivek.

I also found that limiting my water around fat time helped me make room for it;  I still got in my gallon a day but just didn't do it before each fat helping or near bedtime so I could try to sleep through after I took my night dose without having to get up again to use the bathroom.

The greek gods yogurt saved me for many days and nights.  There is also one with honey which is very good.  The other thing that saved me were the Flora Udo Oil Truffle bars that were suggested to me.  I used the suggestions that folks had posted while I could tolerate food but as I went a long I realized that my taste, smell and sight changed and I had to switch gears as I continued to move forward.  I am beginning my 12th week of incivik and for the past few weeks have struggled with getting things down or even past my nose and mouth.  You don't want to know what I am combining and I will gag at the end of the incivik when I look back on what I could tolerate or even craved LoL.  What I kept remembering as I moved along and had a hard time eating in the morning when I first woke up and in the evening when I had to wake up to eat is 12 weeks will end and the important thing is to get those 20 grams down 3 times a day and take the incivik on time.  As you can tolerate food try to eat as healthy as you can so if you get to the point that ice cream or bread soaked in olive oil is what it is you won't feel guilty.  The suggestions above are really good.  I loved fresh mozarella and tomatoe with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and avocado and tomotoe for a while.  And remember everyone is different so you may find that you can tolerate good food the whole 12 weeks.
I wish you good eating and all the best!

This is a great list of food with fat.
I got pretty lazy when I was on Incivek, ate apples with 3 tbs of peanut butter  3 times a day.  I was so sick it was something easy.  I also have diabetes so ice cream was out though my husband kept bringing home :)

Although 6 weeks into Incivo,I struggle every day with the 20 grams of fat.

Greek yoghurt is good for you with its probiotics and ease at which it can be eaten early in the morning and last thing at night. One and half cups does it.

I'm gluten intolerant, but have found gluten free rolls, with which I make fish burgers out of, using frozen fish fillets with high fat content. Chuck on a couple of tablespoons of mayo, salad and there's a good 20 gms. Replace fish with hamburger mince, and you get fat and iron.
Pies, homemade fetta and spinach filo etc.
Eggs have about 5gms of fat (all in the yolk), so you can use 2 egg yolks and 2 eggs to make an omelette. Or 2 eggs and bulk it out with hard cheddar cheese.
Pesto pasta has alot of fat, 2 pieces of toast with 3tbs peanut butter, spread with tsp butter is 20 grams.
Read labels of dips; some like spinach and pinenut are good to go with say about 10 heaped corn chips.
lately, I've been wishing I could have croissants and ham and cheese, pizza (2 slices of one with meats, 3-4 slices of vegie ones)

There are some lists on here somewhere compiled by people. A good one comes from gopkrs in a reply to a question on the 15/2 'Does the 20grams have to be solid?'

I tend to shop every couple of days at the moment, as I get tired of food very quickly. The one thing that doesn't change is the yoghurt first up and last thing.
