Fake Drugs

Sorry to start a new thread, but this is important. I took my first injection of Pegasys last Friday, and I have no side effects yet. I know that it can happen, but I have such bed ones 7 years ago on Interferon alone, that I really expected at least a fever. In today

I do 1 injection of (180) pegasys every week.  I don't have any liquid left in the vial whatsoever after I draw up my dose.  My pegasys is pre-mixed; 180 in the vial, so there is not anything left.

I didn't have any sides during my first 2 months of doing the combo meds.  Not everyone is the same and not everyone gets all the side effects at the same time.

Be thankful that your fist dose (medicines) went smoothly, and there isn't anything in the books that say you can't have an ill feeling or ill effect a few days after.

Just take each day at a time.  When your side effect start to creep up on you, you'll know it. No guessing!!

I can't find any information on counterfeit Pegasys but there have been cases of counterfeit Procrit and Neupogen:

See http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/SAFETY/2002/procrit2.htm and http://wwwext.amgen.com/news/news01/release010510updated010605.html for more information.

And about that last bit of Pegasys in the vial - I grab that extra 10-15% as well.   If you're doing that, keep a close eye on your neutrophils - if they go too low and you might find yourself doing a decreased dose of Pegasys until your counts come back up.   (Unless your doctor will prescribe Neupogen)

Thanks,
Thomas

About that yellow tint.  I think when you first slam the virus with the meds, there is a huge kill off.  Hopefully, the dragon suffers the most.
Some cells die off too.  Ribavirin often kills red blood cells, and that can create bilirubin and jaundice; this is most radical in the first weeks.  Are you lightheaded or dizzy when you suddenly stand up?  How is your energy level?  I'd keep an eye on the blood counts.
Then again, it may just be tx complexion...

Great on no sx. I hope it continues that way for you. And I always had a bit left, after drawing mine into the syringe.  Good Luck and God Bless, Cindee

Yes, you are correct.  My ill feelings kicked in about week 7 when my RBC dropped drastically and rapidly. I started Procrit on week 8 so that I could continue with the HepC meds. However, sides have been minimal compared to others I have spoken with and from what I read from others on this forum.

I take Amitriptyline for my AD which Amitriptyline is used for other things besides an antidepressant.  Used for sleep disorders, weight loss disorders and an overall painblocker. I have always contributed my minimal ill side effects due to the assistance of this drug.  I haven't lost much weight during my 42 weeks of meds and I have always been able to sleep well.

I am on week 42/48 and I am undetectable of the virus.
There hasn't been many days that I just couldn't get out of bed and function.  Just a few.

I'm on shot 30 something (pegasys) and since my first shot I've always drawn out every last drop, which is a little bit more than 180, cost to much to leave any in the bottle and than throw the bottle in the trash- "Good to the Last Drop"- see ya'll -- HD

I had very mild sx's which were totally managed w/otc's and nutrition and herbs.  And I had already gone into complete liver failure w/coma.  Pretty sick puppy!  I also cl'ed by 18 days.  And nearly 2yrs later still cl-cured?

Logic would dictate that being over 50 and infected in 1979 and having complete liver failure, I should have had bad sx's.  B/I didn't, I had mild to non-existant sx's-incl depression.  Of course, pot was one of the herbs I used.  B/ cl's cl & that's something to put in your pipe and smoke!

I did shots 3X a wk, and they hit me like speed. too.  So with the RLS (the leg thing) and speedy reactions, i got little sleep.  My partner suggested I do my shots in the AM, which I did.  I would shot up and take the dogs(border collie and blue heeler-active dogs!) for a long walk and then clean house, organize closets and drawers, alphabetize herbs and spices.  Go to costco, concerts and fairs.  Then I slept the sleep of the dead-no, wait, I've been dead so I can say it wasn't quite the dead, more like the rightous.

So maybe adjusting your shot time would help.
