False positive

Hi all to those of you just starting treatment hang in there. fight the dragon! regarding your blood test if you ever have doubt about your results demand a retest! false positives do happen my husband being proof.. I was sure his 6 month eot test was wrong he was ready to accept it, But I pushed him to call the dr and retest and look SVR! so hang in there fight the fight and keep up on those test! and wish you all SVR!!!

Congratulations to you and your husband!  This is great news!
I also have had false positives as well as false negatives.  It is really hard when that happens.  sometimes I think it is a result of having to have so many blood tests.
Again, very happy for both of you

I am glad you posted this topic!  I think we tend to forget that humans and labs do make errors.  Unfortunately it causes unnecessary stress but it is what it is.  You did the right thing and had him retested.

On my 8 wk VL, probably the most important in starting tx on Vic, the lab techs did not take enough blood to run the test.  I almost fell out of my chair.  So I had to wait until wk 9 to have the test run.  I was UND and Dr said he would use that as wk 8.  I wasn't happy about it but it does happen.

So happy everything worked out for you two!
