Fatty Liver and pancreas

I have just received the results of an abdominal ultrasound and it came back saying that I have a fatty liver and pancreas.  What could be the cause of this?  I am in my early 60s.  I am being scheduled for a CT scan.  I cannot have MRIs as I have a pacemaker.

I am 5 foot 5 inches and the highest I ever weighed was 173 and that was a couple of years ago.  I am now 159 lbs.  My combined cholesterol is 3.67.

Any ideas what could cause this?

Thanks very much,

G

Hi  there..Do you have Hep C . Fatty liver may or may not be associated with Hepc. The disordes of "NASH"  and "NALD" would be more widely dicussed on the "Liver Disorders" forum.

Good luck.

Being overweight is a major cause of fatty liver is extremely common. Get rid of the weight, and your liver will clear up.

I'm 15 lbs overweight, and I have mild fatty liver. When I asked my liver doc what I could do about it, he said:

"Lose 15 pounds."
