Fellow Hepper/ADIOS

I must have missed this lastest barrage of insulting comments being referred to in earlier posts. In my 1.5 years here I have also seen them come and seen them go. But it is not just this time that bothers me, this seems to be an everday occurrence in some form or fashion (personal attacks, etc...) It's probably just the disease or tx but personally I don't have the time or patience to have to stroll through garbage to try to find the answer or help I need. I'm struggling with post-tx and psycological issues and the stress of the bull-**** I have to endure to try to find some solid experienced ideas and methods here is just too much for me. I have a couple of e-mail addresses of folks I do love and respect from this forum that I will try to stay in contact with, but like many forums this one will eventually have to be purged and start over from scratch. I will not be heard from on this board anymore.Signing off~Neal~

Ditto. Lize, how in the world are you? Things are still pretty much the same here on the farm. Pretty quiet. We like it that way. Grandkids are growing up, one will graduate high school in may. I go back for annual tests in February. I actually feel pretty good. Are you having any lasting effects from tx? Take care and good luck ...

Lize, is this our same Lize?  OH Lize, I thought of you often.  You helped me so much in the beginning of my meds and really all during my tx time.  Everyone did.  I hope you are well.  All my best regards to you and your family.
Enough said about this other deal that goes on here now and has gone on for awhile.  Just absolute weirdness.  Back then, we never had the extra 'rant and rave' feature on this forum.  Just good love and friendly help.  Yes that is what I remember too.

I have been coming to this place for almost 2 1/2 years.
I am 2 yrs svr.
I read what certain people have said.
I never had this happen while I was doing tx.
We all supported one another during some horrible times.
If u did not like a certain persons actions, maybe you should have not been so nice to that person.
This place has turned into a mean spirited group of people.
NOT ALL OF YOU..BUT THOSE WHO POINT FINGERS ALL OF THE TIME.
GROW UP.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but I was sure happy to hear that things are moving right along for you and your hubby. Almost finished, what a wonderful feeling that will be for you both. I give you alot of credit, being able to withstand it all, both of you feeling like hell, and never quiting!! After this is all over, you will KNOW that there is nothing the two of you can't get past.

Be blessed.  Mattie

I think that if you have been negative for months now, there is no virus in those needles to infect you, plus if there were, you are now killing them with your ususal meds. I would not worry too much, as long as you are on meds and negative

I thank everyone of you, for all the support I recieved when I needed it, and I also thank all those that remember the true meaning of this forum.. It just gets wearing after a while.... but to be quite honest....

Think about it this way.....

I have discovered... that there is a whole lot more going on behind the scenes here... & as long as the women keep biting... why wouldn't it attract certain male types.....

The truth of all reality is here... that people in general are using these places as pick up joints!!!! (Both Genders)

Thank you so much for your quick response........the needles were several weeks or more old.........it was one of the old kind NOT with the cap but the other thing that you just pull back and it sort of protects the needle.....so i know it was an old one.........i feel better now.........gezzzz thats all i need
to be reinfected...........I cant wait til Im done....
They took me off the RIba at 45 weeks.....cause my hemmo dropped alot more.........my GI doesnt believe in Procrit he believes "cut back the drugs first"........anyway, this happened once before during tx.....he cut me from 1200 to 800 for one month and then I asked to go back to 1000......he agreed......well, i will have my RNA in two weeks and another cbc and then hopefully the virus will still be gone and i can go on with my life until 3 mo PCR........then i will pray for SVR

I am reminded of the scene in Gimme Shelter, where Mick Jagger is standing on stage, while Hell's Angels batter the Stones' fans under the guise of protecting the Stones. Mick is pleading with the crowd to chill out-- "Why can't we all love one another?" -- while, of course, the Stones' lyrics, their decision to hire the Angels in the first place, Jagger's big mouth causing the concert to be moved from Golden Gate park to Altamont all contributed to the carnage. I could go with a classical or biblical allusion, but this one will have to do.

I've been on this board a little over a year. I've watched a few insensitive souls walk all over it and the rest of us in what seems like regular waves. Different insensitive souls, by the way. I finished tx a couple of months ago, and my rage has cooled rapidly. Some the current batch of insensitve souls aren't on riba so they don't even have that excuse.

The anonymity of the Internet and the ease with which we can write anything makes flaming so attractive. Do you guys and gals act like this in person? We all get to know each other too well and like any family group, some people just **** you off. Where's the line between teasing and threat, between expressing an opinion and insults, between diagreement and feud? I know where it lies for me, but what makes me the judge?

My understanding of this board is that it is a patient-to-patient support group, unmoderated, and owned and operated by Medhelp. They ask that we refrain from commercial postings, religion and politics, and from direct threats to other users. In return, they offer us a place to trade information and support. I don't see that as censorship. I see it as a contract that we all agree to when we create our accounts. We all cross the line, that's part of the therapy, but we all know when we've gone too far, and that violates our contract. What's pure in this world anyway? Everything is a compromise so get over it.

We're all adults in this place so who started or who's worse ought to be left for the kindergartners. Take a little responsibility for yourself and think before you post. I spent 11 months where this board was the best support I got (and my family and friends were extremely supportive) and I'd like to return the favor. Lou set up his board as a place where you could insult and spew to your heart's content. Leave this place for the ones who need it.

Deb,

The virus must have curtain proteins from the blood to survive. If the needles were several weeks old the virus was long gone, that is if there was even any blood on the needles.
As a precaution I would talk to your Dr or his Nurse, but I wouldn't worry. I would think it would be really hard to reinfect with a needle stick, especially from blood that you have been treating.

Sorry to butt in here.......i have a question.  I'm just did #46 and when i was putting the syringe in the plastic baggie with the top on of course to take to the clinic next week to dispose of them i stuck myself with one of the other used needles in the bag, I guess the top was off.......not once but 2 different times. I washed and cleaned both of the scratches..........but NOW WHAT.....
How long does the blood remain active on the needle after it dries???  Can i possibly reinfect myself......I have read something here a while ago but i cant remember.....does anyone have an answer???  Deb

As a fairly new warrior on the tx (3 wks), I am very concerned that everyone pulling out is going to leave those of us who are just getting started with a ton of unanswered questions.  Tx is intimidating enough...to wonder if any of the "seasoned" heppers will be around for advice, guidance and encouragement  is a *****.

PLEASE take Lou up on his alternative and don't leave us!  Let's keep this wonderful, sacred, informative site open for the new generation.  Please...
