Fevers

I asked this question once before and did not get much response. Has anyone had constant fever for the first three weeks of tx. It is partially responsive to tylenol but as I write this I am at 100.5 and have already taken 2500mg today. Regardless, I will give it a few more weeks but would like to know if anyone else has had a similar experience. No other sx.

I have had one for a couple of days after shot, from 100.5 - 101.5, the tylenol takes that away.   When I have the shivers I have a fever..  Today I have had fever and shivers all day..  Just took a nice hot bath to warm up..

I could live with 2 or 3 days of fever. But i'm talking EVERY day. I end up taking about 3000 mg of tylenol.

I think you should have your doc check for a bacterial infection.  Low grade fevers are normal but yours is borderline.

i ran a fever a lot of the time while on tx.    ,   it seems pretty common.  i didnt take tylenol (bad for liver)  unless it got pretty high.  just drink a lot of water.   the interferon is fighting the virus.   even towards the end of tx.  i ran around 100 a lot.

Forgot to add...stay away from the Advil a day or so before your bloodwork.  It thins the blood and can cause unnecessary bruising.

It sounds like your immune system is working.

In that case, I suggest you alternate Advil with the Tylenol.

Thanx for comments. I will try alternating with Advil. I had already tried Motrin by itself with about the same results as tylenol. Thats encouraging if its true that the fevers result fom the inf attacking the virus. I hope its not my immune system just rejecring the extra inf.

Gonna be a long hard ride  ...
