First Shot-Can I take Tylenol for the the fever

Hi All,

Wow, shots are unforgiving aren't they?  Took first last night and worked today with 100.8 temp. I hope it gets better as I go along.  Can I take Tylenol for the fever and aches?  Had back surgery many years ago and this medicine has found every weak spot in my bones and made them pay.  Would like some relief but don't know and forgot to ask doc (nor did he offer any info) as to what I can take for the discomfort.  Would appreciate your input.

Doctor said no more than  2 grams of Tylenol a day . On a bad day you can take no more than 4 tylenols in a 24 hour span that was as per my hepatologists P.A.

I also take Aleve.

My first shot was very uneventful nothing at all. I didnt have any sx at all until around week 4 and week 7 I got hit by the HepC train that ran me over till week 17. Better now.
Everyone is very different on this tx. I never had fever, chills, body aches.
Jus a severe sore troat week4 that lasted over a month. Exhaustion is the worst sx for me.
I havent lost a pound appetite is great, just have tomove very very slowly otherwise
will faint and will get outof breath very easily. Itscjing and scratching alot, lost 30% of my hair so far. Im going on weeek 20. Mood swings are bad forme too.
Its a mixed bag you will have ups and downs. Hope my experience helped you to some degree.
Remember takes weeks for the meds to accumulate in your system.

Tylenol is acetomenaphen (not sure if I speled it right) but people kill their livers on acetomenaphen over doses. Knowing this figure that it's not good stuff even in small quantities. (however, I do take one pill about every 3 weeks when I have to do some heavy duty skiing).

My hepatologist said Tylenol is fine for the liver as long as you stick w/ the recommended doses.  He also said most docs dont understand this.  I dont know.... but he is kind of youngish and maybe well who knows anyway he said it is fine, if you have a headache take 2 Tylenol, dont suffer with ache...

and I am about to take my first shot on Mon morning, what should I expect and how soon should I expect it, as far as the symptoms,
ps. I have heard rumors of serious weight loss with this, anybody out there care to SHARE how much you have lost, would be good input for me to get an idea of what to expect on THAT part ,as well.

Hi Trinity:

I started my Tx two weeks ago, ago had to see my GI to learn exactly how to do it right, and they gave me two tylenol right then and there before I took the shot and said it was on to take ocasionaly. I did not run a fever this week at all so did not have to take any, but I think you will be fine taking a couple of Tylenol, as long as not drinking alcohol at least that is what my doc. said
