I gather you are on PegIntron and Rebetol then? I am also not comfortable with the fact that Schering-Plough doses ribavirin differently than Roche.

Rebetol is dosed:
85 kg: 1200 mg

Copegus is dosed:
or = 75 kg: 1200 mg

You are however very close to the next range. 86 kg equals 189.2 lbs.

I tried to find some old threads where this was discussed, but I am having no luck. I have a bunch of text I copied from the forum, but it is pretty long.

I made it into the trial with a little back and forth on what would exclude you (clinicaltrials.org said cirrhosis would not disqualify you, trial nurse's detailed criteria said otherwise). Don't know if your trial is exactly the same but my deal was TOTALLY unblinded, two-arm protocol. All systems were go and at the beginning of the start date appointment, she plugged me into the computer which randomly assigned me to Group A, the SOC arm, no 796.

With that she asked if I still wanted to participate. I asked if I didn't respond would they offer 796 at some point and she said at this time (May 5) that was not part of the trial, but that it might change. So you might ask about that.

I was very concerned to learn Wyeth criteria for riba dose was 1,000 mg for my weight of 186, which I felt wasn't enough based on everything I have learned here...THANK YOU ALL.

Doc came in and encouraged me to participate anyway. I asked how he would dose me at if I wasn't participating in the trial, and after he conferred with his NP he said 1200 mg,, but that it didn't really matter, he still wanted me to  begin. I took a pass and will wait for the next trial opportunity. JM you were there in spirit with me : )

Dosing info was not in the consent forms, but it is possible thinigs are being tweaked. I suppose if I had made it into Group B, I would have moved forward regardless, but it might be something you want to find out before that crucial approintment.

Hopefully the group will have some input about the 200 mg dose difference. I just feel being treatment naive, I want all the stars, moons and my riba dosing in perfect sync when I go for it. Anything to give me better odds. Know what I mean?
