Friday Fight Song 03-24-06 - 50 Ways

by Eyedeas, Mar 24, 2006 12:00AM
SEVERAL WAYS TO SAVE YOUR LIVER

To the tune - FIFTY WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER

The problem is all inside your blood, she said to me
The answer is easy if you take it logically
I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free
There must be several ways to save your liver

She said it's really not my habit to intrude
Although it seems one side effect of treatment's bein' rude!
So I repeat myself, at the risk of sounding crude
There must be several ways to save your liver,
several ways to save your liver

  Chorus:
Just doing your Peg, Meg, add Rebetol, Paul
Don't need to be coy, Roy, just listen to me
Hop the Tx bus, Gus, don't need to discuss much
These meds are your key, Lee, to get yourself free
   (repeats 2x)

She said it grieves me so to see you in such pain
I wish there was something I could do to make you smile again
I said, I appreciate that, then would you please explain about the several ways...

She said, the Peg meds are the most effective way
But she said you have to know that it won't always be that way
The answer for you may be to wait for something new
There must be several ways to save your liver,
several ways to save your liver

I said I'll fight now if you'll help me through this, doc
So we sat down and we had ourselves an interesting talk
And now it won't be long until I'm finally through,
There must be several ways to save your liver,
several ways to save your liver

Hey buddy it sounds like you've got the blue monster off your shoulder. I hope your feeling a lot better. I do shot 18 tonight and only 30 more to go. Yeah! My early shots up until 10 or 12 took me to sickville every weeked. Never new what to expect. Around number 12 it got a lot better. Far from being myself but bearable (doable) I hope you have a peaceful weekend. If you feel any severe breathing problems get to your doctor. My Nutrophils (whites) dropped and all they needed was a shovel and a box to put me in. Good luck and stay safe. Dale

GOOD ONE!  LOL!  Gotta go down to the Med center today, give them my blood, get another month supply of meds and then meeting up with a girlfriend for lunch.  After lunch we are going to see the new exibit at the museum downtown Houston of the REAL human bodies!  I'll let ya'll know what the livers look like! It's suppose to be a very contraversal exibit which makes me want to see it even more.

Have a great day a few sides everyone!

You rock.

The lyrics are confusing my coworkers but I've noticed a couple of them started to hum along.

Another great one to go with all the others.

Hope everyone on treatment has a relatively easy side free weekend. Remember......it CAN be done.

Peace
Mattie

Is that the Universe Within exhibit? I went to see that with my little boy last summer. Amazing stuff. I did thing some of the ways they posed the bodies were unneccessarily gratuitous (one dude carrying his skin on a dry cleaner hanger), but I'd go back in a 'heartbeat'.

by Fisheress, Mar 24, 2006 12:00AM
Just got home from Houston, got meds, will get results back next week on my blood counts. Cordinator told me I won't have another PCR test untill 48 weeks.  Darn!  Oh well, just keep the positive attitude with hopes I stay Neg.

We spent 3 hours in the museum, absolutely outstanding...It was so much more than bodies...hard to explain...Pretty freaky too!  I suggest anyone that is going to be in Houston to check it out....WILD!

I am totally exausted, did more today than I have done in a month. Time to take a couple Motrin, hit the sofa and call it a night!  I know alot of you have your shot tonight.  Weather it be your 1st, your last, or anywhere in between, I wish you all a restful and side free weekend.  I do #29 tomorrow nite.

THAT is a classic. I read that in the few moments between work and going to the Chapel to meditate. Big smile, than a little later I'm in the Chapel and the song comes into my head. I started to apologise and refocus in my head for the distraction, and smiled at the thought of God suddenly clearing his throat, sitting straight up and trying not to tap his foot to the beat.
Ya got me,
Don

This is the one that was in SF last year....

http://phillips.blogs.com/goc/2005/04/universe_within.html

Sounds similar, but smaller.... I did think it was a little small. It was pretty  controversial here re: appropriate use of medical cadavers, and whether the bodies were adequately preserved to contain disease.

Some folks thought it inappropriate for a six year old. I obviously disagreed.
