Friday Fight Song 06-02-06 Tonight's The Night

Tonight's The Night (Gonna Be Alright)
Rod Stewart

Stay away from my window
Stay away from my back door too
Disconnect the telephone line
Relax baby and draw that blind

Kick off your shoes, and sit yourself down
Gettin' the Shot Night routine right down
Get some water, a good long drink
Ooh, baby don't you hesitate, 'cause

Tonight's the night
Give the dragon a real fight
'Cause I love life, girl
Ain't nobody gonna stop us now

C'mon, Heppers let's light a fire
Build a Hep C funeral pyre
It ain't easy, it's one tough ride
Brace yourself
Prepare for the sides, 'cause

Tonight's the night
Give the dragon a real fight
'Cause I love life, girl
Ain't nobody gonna stop us now

---- Instrumental Interlude ----

Don't say a word, my Hep C Child
Just let your imagination run wild
The future is about to unfold
We'll beat this thing and together grow old

Tonight's the night
Give the dragon a real fight
'Cause I love life, girl
Ain't nobody gonna stop us now

Kim

Good to hear your almost done , I know the anemia sx's have been a issue but you've prevailed there . I did shot 14 friday and it kicked butt again. Time seems to stand still at times but we're gettin her done. Been on the paxil for 10 days now and it seems to be helping , been so anxieied out I've been laying low but now I'll be around more again. Between work and the tx it's been rough! Trying to get some rest guy and it's working, the anemia seems to have let up a little again, I believe I've gotten used to the hmg being in the low 10's.

Hey Beags- I saw your post to me thanks. The antibiotics have made me feel a lot better. Was sent to a surgeon but he wouldn't take my insurance. Seems to be clearing though and fever is gone. Still looks like an alien trying to sneak out from under my collar though. I bandage it for work and wear 2 shirts with collar up.

Which leads to Pretty Poison- Yea it has seemed awful hot here in CT unless it's just the meds. Going up in the crawl spaces was a little tough today, and wearing 2 shirts to protect neck and disn't help. Actually i think I got the infection from my neck getting irritated from my Safety Glasses and reading glasses both strapped to my neck while I'm crawling around all sweaty.
Oh well, it's my life and somebody has to live it.

I'm thinking of fixing up one of my old cars for Can Man if I can find it. Got it when I was about 5. Looks like one of those little clown cars ya pedal. Putting a big rubber bulb horn that whistles a cat call when you squeeze it on the dash. Little neon lights that say 'In Service' 'Vacancy Within', 'Please Give Me a Toot'. Can't put a siren on it... but remember those little cans with a handle stickin out that ya'd spin around and it would shrill louder the faster ya spun? Gettin one for the front seat. Course there's only a front seat. When he's cruising he'll have to hold that can up and cirlce his arm around real fast so the ladies follow the shrill. Can just picture him with a towel arounf his neck, lttle tropical shirt unbuttoned, mask and snorkel, pulling up to fishy's pool aprty with a caravan of ladies, and cats, and dogs runnin behind. Get's out with his flippers squishin...maybe he'll even wear trunks!

Your a funny man Mr Strator! Been thinking about you - I know it hasn't been a picnic lately. It's a long way back since we were comparing notes on those first shots, huh?

I wanted to mention that I had a couple 'riba bumps' that got infected (I ran with pretty low WBC during tx). Went to my PCP, he held off on antibiotics but stressed the value of having a hot shower stream banging away on it. He thought the shower much better than soaking and really stressed it to me. Needless to say it did turn around... who knows what contributed. Thought I'd pass that tip along. Oh and I gouged away with a sterilized needle... not the best idea, but I was compelled. Considering my lack of surgical prowess, I'm glad these weren't in a more 'essential' area. Yowza!!

Stay well my friend.

Hi BB,,,I can't believe you have had 2 transfusions and still on the tx!  My hats off to you as I really don't know if I could have handled that on top of tx.  So glad to hear you are finishing up!!! Yeahhhh!  Cheers to your HGB soon to be climbing!

Hi Strator...LOLOLOL I can't quit laughing over the Cando story! Too funny!! You certaintly have an imagination and creative mind! Doesn't look like the tx has given you much brainfog!!

Sorry to hear you have been feeling bad and hope you are back to your old self soon!!

Pretty-- Glad your doing well with tx, Rocker is another one having a sx free ride with tx.  Do take care of being out doors in this heat, it doesn't mix well with meds.

Don-- LOL LOL You haven't lost your sense of humor.  Glad that fever is finally gone and your doing better.

In another post you said you went from 1200 to 1000 in riba. Aprox which week did you do that and did you go back to 1200? I also got the implication that dropping the riba negated the need for procrit?  If dose is 15mg/kg which was the appropriate dose at starting weight 1000 or 1200?  Ever exceed 1200?

Counting on MY schedule after this week you only have one one one one ONE to go.  I can't stand it. I can't WAIT for your post PCRs to come back NEGATIVE and hear the word CURED when you post.

After this week I think I have 11 (my calendar is downstairs to check) or 35 left.

It's almost lunchtime and I am going to call Dr. J - got to get started I just can't procrastinate any longer since I have the #.

I am so glad you won't be needing him at all. :)

Hey pops, what you talking about? Find it heck you still drive it. All pops senior had to do was extend the pedals out a foot for ya. Member you call us a two car family? One of those rubber bulbs and those other goodies with the lights would be way cool though. Man you never would let us touch your caddy, now i can drive it? PARTY TIME.

Hey, I think you have till the middle of Aug to finish tx, right?  Did a PCR test this morning, should have the results back by Wed or Thurs.  ONE more left for me I hope.

Let me know what happens after you call Dr J.

Nice song, Kim.  How kind of you to continue the ritual even tho you are not txing currently.  It does give me a lift.

Stator - I can just visualize can-do in the can-car tooling around fish'es pool.  Lets all go for a dip.... Glad the antibiotics are kicking in.

Honey - how are you, gal?  Sounds like post-tx life just treats you fine.

BB - pushing you across the finish line.  Almost there... maybe Can can pull you in his littel carcar.

If the PCR is clear I will stop tx.  I'll take the procrit for 2 to 3 weeks post tx to help get my #'s up.  My HGB will start to get better after I stop the riba, that's what pulled it down.  I've had the Thal since I've been born and never had a problem with it till I went on these meds. Once I'm back to normal or what's normal for me (11.0-11.5) there is no maintance, I have not taken any thing for the Thal before.  It's amazing how potent these drugs are, it's compared to chemo.  Those who are on chemo with or without Thal have to take procrit.
What day this week do you go to Gainsville?
