Cuteous! I'm crushed! For you to think I would throw out a question like that without doing my homework first..well..just crushed... Ok, I'm better. (Stong like bull smell like Buffalo, that's me.) Of course I check him out. He comes with good credentials but without a medical degree. famous author, asked to teach at all the cool colleges. When it comes to plants he's got it going on! But hepc, i don'y know. I could not find reference to the studies in his book and yes like you, I do not like that. So I thought I would ask.

But you are right. I should have been a little more cautious with my wording. New in the game, got no one one to blame, but myself. I will be more forthcoming with the doubts I have BEFORE posting

Sorry, Lou - there will be NO SUSHI for you for the next year! (And probably forever would be prudent).

Vicki;  Thanks for posting that.  Shrimp and fish are about the only food I really like any more, so I was getting a little worried about that when I first started reading the posts.  I did give up eating sushi years ago because I had heard raw fish contained so much bacteria.

Happy Friday to all.  Have a positive attitude on shot night and have a great weekend!

The book "Herbs for Hepc and the liver" makes to staement from a study (study not included) of 432 hepc patients that of which 17 contracted Hepa. Of the 17, 7 died. We all are aware of the deadly combo of hepc and hepa. Thus the article draws the conclusion that Hepa is often contracted from shellfood and should be avoided to lessen the rish of contracting hepa. The article makes no mention of cooked, or uncooked.

Vicki, am I not doubting what you are saying, I am just wondering if we are saying same/different things for the same/different reasons. The bateria you are exponding on is not hepa I assume.(uhg! The A word)

Also I am not trying to scare anyone. I do not know if this is valid, I simply hoped you would shed some light. When it comes to shedding light you guys are like supper novas!!

I KNEW IT! that was from that book you are reading. Check the references in the back, track down the study's name and search it on the web. If that book does not have a reference to the study, quit reading it! You do not need any more stress and neither do we...lol. Find out the credentials of the author also.
When I first started reading about hep c, and found Dr. Koop's site, I became extremely depressed with it. I then realized that it was not updated frequently and moved on to better sites...like this one.

Hate to butt in but I just read something disturbing. I read that because sheelfish "filter" water they have a high level of HAV in ther systems and people with Hepc should avoid eating all sheelfish? No more shrimp on the BB? Mates and Lindas, tell me it ain't so!

"Foodborne outbreaks associated with human enteric viruses are almost always due to the consumption of fecally contaminated raw or undercooked shellfish and ready-to-eat products contaminated by infected food handlers"
Above is part of this article by the CDC:
