On my last trip to the Guru Liver docs nurse she informed me that half of patients lose weight and half gain. I thought most lost but I gained so thought I was the freak.
Three years after treating & curing I still cant take off the 60lbs I put on. I have tried various diets, exercise routines, etc and NO luck in taking off the weight = another mystery to add to my many issues.
I am the same, I can not keep weight on, i am a stick creature.
My thyroid is normal and fine, just no appetite!
Hope you are ok!
I don't know why but for some of us...........the weight gain goes straight to the stomach area and sits there. I lost a lot of weight on treatment but then at week 30 my thyroid went hypothyroid...and I gainned it all back PLUS a lot more. It's HORRIBLE I can so totally relate to you. UGH!
Have you had your TSH numbers checked? It seems very early for your thyroid to get messed up however weight gain IS associated with hypothyroid - I'd just make sure your doc is on top of that. I loved being hyperthyroid I couldn't keep an ounce on no matter what I ate (all ice cream diet was LOVELY) but it flipped over and now if I eat lettuce I don't lose weight. Is that how it is with you or are you eating a lot?
I hope it stop for you soon.
Thanks for the gread info !!
Yeah ! all this rescue drugs I take --Neupogen--Procrit--Zolfram--and certainly no exercise--other than going to work like a ZOMBIE--and in bed all weekend just to recuberater! no wonder I'm gaining weight LOL!
Oh--got to December on this and them hopefully I'll be SVR forever !!
God bless Chefsalad and hope you have a pain free day..

I am sorry you are having the problem of nausuea. So far I have not. I eat a cracker or 2 w/ my Riba so helps that (at least). It is common for your RBC and WBC to go south while on tx. The meds have a lot of major side effects. There are boosters if these go too low if needed. I would see if the weight gain could be a side effect from the Zolfram. (all these pills we're taking.. lol) Also tx can effect your thyroid causing weight gain. your doctor should be monotoring your thyroid closely.Another also lol.. If you're not feeling as well your probably less active. I know I am! So many factors but the good thing is your aware of what's happening to body.Being aware and a good relationship with your doctor will help you through tx.Geno 1-4 weeks UD?? EXCELLENT!!!!!!!! Ont SVR!!! You're doing great. I know how happy you must feel about that.
Thank you for your beautiful message to me today!! I will try and remember to love myself no matter what!!
Thanks for reminding me of that-- I needed to hear that today!!
Blessings to you today.

I had the problem of having to eat to curb the nausea. If I didn't eat - I threw up constantly.
So I gained some decent weight on this TX. 30-40 lbs.
I've taken off the "look" of the weight... But want to drop off at least 20 more lbs. I'm at 172... I'm a very curvy - plump --- healthy looking kinda gal. LOL! Keep in mind though --- unlike a lot of folks who say they have "BIG BONES" --- I do.. On a 5'6 woman - I have hands the size of most basketball players - makes life fun for the hubby tho... LOL!
And I can play the guitar like there's no tomorrow. (Ok - at least in my mind... )
Lately I've just been eating healthier and trying to exercise - because during treatment - I couldn't. I could hardly walk... I was so exhausted and in pain... Now I'm just in pain.
I've been off TX for a year and about 2 months - obtained and hope to keep forever SVR status.
Much luck to you - and may you find joy in who YOU are --- not your tummy...
