GGT over 400 -- alcohol withdrawal

I was informed on Monday that my GGT was over 400.  I am trying to quit drinking, having had only 3 yesterday and 1 so far today, but am REALLY SICK.  I am afraid of DT's.  I have diarrhea to the point of not making it to the bathroom and really sick to my stomach.  I don't have insurance and can't get a doctor to make an appointment with me.  What should I do?

Hi,
I'm not an expert but with your medical problems you really need to try and find a Detox center in your area most cities do have programs that don't require insurance. Alcohol detox can be very dangerous without medical supervision and shouldn't be done without monitoring your vital signs.

Sorry for your troubles.

I don't know much about this - not that I haven't drained back a few in my day....

Why don't you try getting in touch with AA or a rehab center? I think this Medhelp website also has an addiction forum. That might be a resource where you could get some help.

You really need to stop drinking now. But you already know that. Good luck.
