GOT GREAT NEWS!!!

by chevyelcam79, Jul 06, 2007 12:00AM
Well, my doc emailed me and said that my two week vl was <35!!!  Rapid responder here!  WOOHOO!!  I do get more bloodwork on Monday.  Hopefully it will still be UND.  Prayers please bunches!!!

If my response on tx remains the same, I am looking at 24 weeks.  Do 5th shot tonight. begin vl was 26,000.

My white, red and hemoglobin is low but not dangerous yet.  We will keep eye on it.

Just wanted to share my good news!

Thanks!  I am 1a, stage 2-3 inflammation 2 fibrosis.  Have known I have had hcv for about 6 years.  Just decided to treat this year.  started June 8th.  Have had hcv for prob about 20+ years.  41 year old female, about 141 lbs. now.  Doc says that with facts of female, caucasian, good weight, good health and low vl should respond well.  Looks like it so far!!

Wow, for a 1a to go UND that fast on SOC is amazing. With that ultralow starting VL and your simply fabulous responsiveness within a mere two weeks is an *extremely* positive harbinger of an SVR coming your way. You might even get away with 24 weeks of treatment if you were inclined to take that chance. That's really rare to score that kind of performance, count your lucky stars. Heck I'm a geno 1a and cleared at 2 weeks too, but I was receiving VX950+SOC. Way to go, the news couldn't be better for you - congrats!

Congratulations!!!!!  I was in the same boat, being 1b; didn't do a 2 week PCR, but did the 4 and found out I was undetectible so I qualified for 24 weeks.  Whew----lucky me!  And lucky you, too!  I've been 2 weeks off of treatment and it feels soooo wonderful to finally be on the other side.  Doesn't it feel like you've been thrown a lifeline, when you were probably expecting to have to do the full 48?  I hope the rest of your journey is a smooth one.

Aloha!

That's awesome.  If UND at 4 weeks makes you a super-responder, you're a super-super-responder.  It'll be over before you know it.
