Gall stones and vaccination A and B and Hep C

Husband has Hep c. He has been through 8 months of Interferon/ribatron and off for 6 months then on peglyated Intron/ribatron for 6 months. The treatments made him very sick and he was having gall bladder attacks. We thought all the sickness was side effects from the meds only. We went to the Dr. and told him of the severe stomach and back pain. The Dr. ordered a sonagram. He had a gall stone the size of a small chicken egg (2cm). He had the gall bladder removed and he was taken off the meds because the 6 month test showed active hep c with no results from the meds. He is in stage 3. His Dr. also told him to take the hep A and B vaccinations while he was on the Peg Intron. Could the bad gall bladder problem and the vaccinations have made either the meds not work or give screwy results? Has anyone had a sonagram and a biopsy at the beginning of any treatment? We think he should have. I know this is a lot of questions, but we are confused and upset because the meds made him so sick and didn't even work.
