you can not have gallstones after surgery but you can get stone(s) in the bile ducts. sometimes people still feel pain after gall bladder is removed because there is a stone in the bile duct.

Thats when I found out originally that I had HepC,   I had my gallbladder out, because of pain, stones and sludge.    After surgery, still had the same pain, they put some scopes down there, checked the ducts and there was nothing there.  But I do still get the pain from time to time.. Thinking Alien is coming out there.  They say now its anxiety/panic attacks.

Right after I made ERCP (before my Gall Blader removed, ERCP done right after Gall Blaader inflammation several months before my GB removal) my blood test values came all  into norm range.
Anyone exprience that ?
That is why I sometime think beside the HCV the inflamantation might come from stones or sludge that blocks something there.

Hey have any of you guys experienced any bubbling effect or feeling coming from your gall bladder...After eating fatty foods????

by JackABCD, Apr 07, 2007 12:00AM
I feel bubbling effect from the area where was the GB, but not right after eating fat food. I feel some pain or discomfort in this area and after a while (sometime while may take 1-2 days) I feel bubbling and that the discomfort or pain gradually disappear.

by madbrad, Apr 07, 2007 12:00AM
OK let me get this right...You did feel the bubbling "WHEN" you had a GB..Before removal????

by madbrad, Apr 07, 2007 12:00AM
Thanks...I think I found out whats been bubbling then...All the docs look puzzzled whe I ask them what it is..

by JackABCD, Apr 07, 2007 12:00AM
What did yo find ?

by JackABCD, Apr 07, 2007 12:00AM
Yes, as far as I remember the bubbling  is more or less the same. The difference is that before the GB removal I was sick many times from infections and had several severe pain attacks.

Hi,
I have the same problem.  An Eastern doctor explained it to me as a stagnant liver.  This is something Western doctors look at differently.  They look at inflammation, fibrosis, etc.  Eastern medicine considers liver stagnation in relation to blood  and bile flow.  When the liver flow is sluggish, there will be a build up of bile made from the liver.  The bile ducts will not flow to the gallbladder or leak out which causes itchiness.  The doctor said lack of bile flow to the gallbladder will eventually cause stones, and build up in the liver will cause damage.  I have gurgling and have assumed my liver is draining which is what I want.  When I have pain in my gallbladder, I will do castor oil packs for 3 days, then I hear gurgling, and I feel better.  Exercise is also a great way to get the blood pumping.  The liver is a filter and sometimes needs help to keep flowing, especially with Hep C.  I try to stay away from animal and vegetable fats, and only eat palm oils.  Vegetable oils can be rancid on the shelf and we don't even know it.  This makes the liver work so much harder.

In my experience, there are many medicines, vitamins, alternatives, etc .. that make us feel better. But unfortunatelly they do not improve the liver status since they don't clear the virus !  After years you discover that from one aspect you feel better because you handle better the side effects of the disease (with alternatives, etc.. ) but from the more importat side - the liver status - sitautation become worse and you accumulate more and more damage (fibrosis and cirrhosis).
My lessons are: be very carefull with alternatives and do not touch them without your doctor approval (they can also harm sometime), don't do the familiar mistake that if your feelings improve somehow you neglect the virus because the virus is the real problem and if it is not treated then the liver will most probably get more and more damage.

Thanks, that was very enlightening..And makes perfect sense to me....After hearing what Jack said it caught my attention.....My sister who is a scrub tech even metioned it to me......The gurgling does happen alot with fatty foods an most ever time I eat good ole country cooking........Greasy Sludge is the culprit.......Thank God I never feel any pain or any bad thing ,just the gurgling or bubbling.....

are you talking about the noise a stomach makes when hungry? i have several gallstones but do not think i have ever heard a gurgling sound from the liver/GB area. i do have alot of rumbling/gas after eating. i sometimes think that may be since my GB may not be working good it causes other disgestive problems like i have. very interesting stuff.

Yes......If you took your left hand and placed your thumb right about your sternum and let the edge of your hand from your thumb running along your fore finger follow the edge of your rib cage it and lay the hand flat as if doin the pledge of allegience...The gurgling happens about where the palm of your hand is.....Sometime its as loud as if your stomach is hungry....but mostly I can feel it......My sister asked me tonight if I have Reflux or heartburn...NO..I don''t.....
But I'll tell you that waht cela said about the oils made sense now.....Because now I'm thinking that with my Liver having to had fight the HCV inf  and everything it makes perfect sense its the SLUDGE trying to go thru......I have no pain whatsoever......Just the bubbling

My gurgling is on the right side, and I am just trying to save my gallbladder, and keep things working properly until I start treatment in a few years.  I have little damage, and when I emerge from this, I want my gallbladder intact without stones.  I have both a Western doctor, and an Eastern doctor.  I like and respect both of them.  What I like about the Eastern doctor, is he treats the whole person, body, mind, and spirit.  He does not say he can eliminate Hep C from the body, but the body does it itself, through the immune system.  He says to save the gallbladder, and help the liver drain bile and fats by using castor oil packs.  The Western doctor says, this may not have anything to do with Hep C, and lets remove your gallbladder.  I say, I have time, and wait to see what new therapies come out in the next few years.  The castor oil packs work well for me, and it is cheap.  It also gives me some much needed time to take care of myself, and relax for an hour 3x's a week.

When my sister-in-law had a gall bladder attack a few months ago, her ALT was something like 1100.  The doc called it hepatitis, which simply means inflamed liver.  Within a couple of weeks, her ALT came down because she was no longer suffering from an accute attack, but she still had gall stones, and she chose to have the gall bladder taken out.  There are all sorts of reasons for elevated ALT numbers, not all of them viral.

This is the sort of answer I was looking for.
I do have HCV since 1980. 3 years ago I had a Gall Stones attack and months after that GB removal surgery. right after the pain attack with antibiotics and ERCP the ALT and the other blood test values came into norm, months after that they returned to be high out of norm (like ALT = 300), I suspect that ERCP cleaned the sludge and the stones and that is why they came into norm, so I tend to agree with you that high ALT is not rather from HCV. But the question is if there is anyway to validate the assumption.

Have you had a biopsy?  All the relevant blood tests?  If not, there's no real way to know what's going on with your liver.  Please let us know what the results turn out to be.  Good luck, and good health to you.
