Gastro issues

Please help, it's going on two weeks without being able to keep any food or drink within me. It's coming out both ends with severe cramping and dry heaving if I have nothing within to expel. Started out taking imodium, then the drs office phoned in generic forms of lomotil and compazine 5 days ago and it has not helped.. I can not eat or drink anything without it coming backup or out within seconds.

The nurse is saying it's the boceprevir.
Any ideas for me?
Has anyone had this this bad and what did you do to control it?

Thanks

I was on week 10 at that time. It turned out I was having a drug reaction to the Boceprevir. Now off the BOC, I am continuing with SOC. So far so good, the PCR after being off meds for 5 days came back UND.

I am unsure how far into the future I need be concerned about a breakthrough.

Thanks to all who responded. I did spend a day in ER.

What week are you on?  Perhaps worse come to worse you can stop the boce but stay on the SOC meds and have a fighting chance at success?

I had the boceprevir diarrhea but it was not as you describe,  No cramping, just entire colon empties out a couple times a day.  I did have what you describe when I had food posioning about 5 mos after TX.  Fixed that with Cipro (antibiotic).  I don't recall nausea or vomiting being a side from boceprevir (can be from interferon but you been on interferon for a while without that SX).  There is also a stomache flu going around the country this season.   I think your nurse may be wrong.  If stomache flu you just ride it out, if food poisoning you need antibiotics.  Hope you feel better soon.

The "bug" would not last this long. You need to follow it up with the doctor. If it is a side effect of a drug, you might have to stop. Please, get checked, because you may become very dehydrated. I hope you feel better soon.

I have no idea, but maybe it would be wise to get tested to see if you caught some kind of bug. Maybe you need antibiotics instead.

Just a thought.
