Genotype 4, virus has left after 13 weeks of tx..

by thatgirl67, Jul 11, 2006 12:00AM
Wow, called my doc about anemia side effects and she told me my virus is completly gone. They were looking for a 2 point drop, but overjoyed that it's completly gone so quickly. They want to continue tx for the full year because geno 4 is stubborn but it gave me a lift. The depression and Anemia has been worth it!

Congratulations! I too am UND after 10 weeks. As a 1a, I too have to go for 48 weeks. But it's a great feeling to know the drugs are working. I am not sure what your UND status has to do with your continuing anemia. I would try to get some help with that. See my post below to you.

Do you know what test you took for your PCR? Some of them are more sensitive and tell you how much virus COULD be left. There are no tests that give a 0 viral level. So we continue to tx and wait to clear all these buggers that are hiding and aren't detected.

Good job! It sure makes one's day!!!

There's nothing like the reassurance of that first und pcr - well, maybe the 6-month post but I haven't experienced that one yet.  Hope they all stay the same.

That is great news and worth the suffering!

Are you on procrit to get your HGB up?

Wonderful news.  I think the 12 week test is so important it is wonderful to see that result.  Do you know the sensitivity of the test?

Read your post from a few days ago. I'm glad to hear your comeback continues.  Pretting soon you'll bust through the top of the hgb-o-meter. Ten is pretty heady territory for you. I guess you prove that one dog's ceiling is another's floor.  Good to know you're feeling better.  Now, on to a pcr to confirim it all.

Thanks! It feels good. Of course I was worried about it. Not anymore! Well, that is until the next one. Time is just flying by, I keep telling myself. That must be the brain fog, cuz then I remember all the sx and troubles and think, "NO! It isn't going that fast!"

Perhaps this is one good thing about 'ol brian fog, you don't remember. They say ignorance is bliss, sometimes.

We keep missing each other my friend.  How are you doing?  Are you feeling ok?  I think I'll do a PCR in about 2 months, just happy my Ast and Alt is so low.
