by TxMawMaw, May 04, 2007 12:00AM
Took Treatment in 2003 Didn't work.  Had SGOT in 12/20/06
SGOT 35
SGPT 53   Just got another one in and 4/27/07
SGOT 63
SGPT 87
Anyone know what level that is? Of course I get this information on Friday and no doctor till monday,
I was between 1& 2 Stage
Really worried about such a rapid increase.
Anyone know many people that have tried the treatment for second time and it work?

believe it or not they are really not that high. i think you could worry if they were in the hundreds. many things besides the hep c could cause an increase, medicines, supplements, etc.... and of course alcohol.

I believe you're still in the mild-to-moderate range, but the increase may reflect a rise in liver injury--albeit slow in progression. Perhaps you're hepatologist might recommend a second go with pegylated INF and RIB.  Another thought is since you're a 1A and have failed standard treatment, perhaps you're a steller candidate for a VX-950 trial. They're looking for people like you.

The change in numbers is really insignificant. Also enymes don't move in a linear fashion, meaning 100 is not twice as bad as 50. If you haven't had a biopsy since 2003, maybe now is the time to get one before making any further decisions.
