Good News! Victory is MINE!

Good evening everyone,

Well I went to see a Hepatologist yesterday at the Alamo Medical Research and OH HOW GOD IS SO GOOD! I ended up seeing a Dr. Poordad who was the Chief of Hepatology at Cedar Sanai in Los Angeles. He helped in the research of the Orals. He has now come to San Antonio to help here. Guess what everyone? I am going to start one of four researches within a couple of months because I am treatment naive. They are thinking of the Gilead Sofosphere trial. He looked at me straight in the eyes and said, "do you realize where you have come to young lady, you know those pills your talking about, well we have them and your going to get better so do not worry" He said, there is a 95% success rate. NO SHOT, no side effects but nausea and fatigue. He said i could still work and go about my business!!

I have all of you to thank because if I would of never found this forum and would of never even known that there was a doctor called a Hepatologist. I have learned so much here and so grateful.

I DECLARE MY VICTORY TODAY AND YOU CLAIM YOURS!

God Bless!

Thanks everyone. I'm still here and still going to post, read and PRAY for all of us. Not out of the woods yet but seeing some light. Still scared but with God by our sides we have the VICTORY! They had called me last week to cancel my appointment for Wedneday (tomorrow) until next month because the dr. was going to be out of town and I begged and pleaded because my mom came in from California to be with me for the appointment. She she put me on hold and I cried out to God at that moment and asked to please make a way for me to be seen. She came back on the phone and asked if i would be able to come in Monday instead, I said, THIS MONDAY! she said, Yes. OMG is so gooooood! Anyway, you guys know what happen after that. I'm still Praying and you guys,

DECLARE YOUR VICTORY TODAY!!!

I know i spelled that sofusbuvir wrong and that is probably wrong too...LOL. im just tooooooo excited!

I treated at Alamo Research with Dr. Lawitz as well. One thing I have to say even if you treated with triple you would have your labs on time and the rescue meds you need.

There are quite a few people who have participated in clinical trials there. I am so glad they are getting more doctors on staff. For a while I thought they were too booked to be seen in a timely manner but another person I know was seen within three days of her appointment and had her biopsy a week later. They were her second opinion choice too. More than anything I am glad you have options and feel optimistic about the future. I hope you keep us posted with how things progress :)

Congrats! You are at a top notch facility. I have been under the care/umbrella of Dr. Eric Lawitz there at AMR. Good Luck!

You just struck gold. please keep us posted. There is an ongoing thread by folks in these trials. I hope you will participate in it too. Easier to keep track of people.

Wow, good for you on getting into the trial and having Dr. Poordad on your team. He is a big hitter and if I had health insurance I would have tried to treat with him at Cedars. I was trying to get into a trial but my time ran out and I got into a program elsewhere. Good luck on the treatment and let us know how it goes.
