Got my alt readings from ins. co.

Got my alt readings from ins. co.

Got my letter today with test numbers from insuance company that would not cover me for high alt readings ... I do not know what these numbers mean so .. if anyone can help ...
AST was 40, ALT was 55, LDL/HDL Ratio was 1.2 and Globulin was 2.0 those were the only ones that were not in the "normal" range ... I have another test scheduled for Monday at 8 a.m for cholesterol and liver functions .. did not schedule a hepatitis one .. at a local lab so I can use those to obtain insurance ... hoping the tea I was drinking with SENNA in it was the culprit for the readings ..

Any imput of what I can do bfore now and Monday to get my reading back to normal would be most appreciative ...

All the info on here is great ..

There probably isn't anything you can do. But it wouldn't hurt to abstain from alcohol and any medications you don't have to take. Good luck.

and how did your test turn out?  I guess my thought were I could get the next test after I get these numbers ... Guess my thoughts are that it was the SENNA ...

If the results do come back positive just remember as much as it's bad news - it's also great news that you DID find out.

My liver enzymes were through the roof (in the 200s) and this is what alerted my doctor that something was wrong in the first place.

I am not lucky to HAVE HCV but I am very lucky that I was diagnosed and able to treat before my liver was in worse shape.  It's NOT the end of the world believe it or not - as long as you have time.

PS If you DO have HCV...we are here!

I was able to normalize my ALT several times by going on a very low fat diet, specifically total fat calories under ten per cent of total calories. For recipes and details you could google the "Pritikin Diet" which I emulated. Can't remember how long it took for the enzymes to normalize but if I remember correctly it was probably a few weeks after I started. The thing with this diet though is that there's hardly any wiggle room for cheating and that one order of french fries will throw the whole diet off.

yes I know it's freaud, my husband is a cop..lol..But I thought the insurance cards there now had photo ID, guess not...Maybe that would be a good thing to have, the less amount of funds spent on fraud the lower the premiums, maybe?

how could you do that, send someone else in for lab work...don't they ask for ID?  Here they ask for the OHIP card (health card) and it has my picture on it...

After everything I read here ... I became more concerned about health than getting insurance coverage ... so, went to the doctor ... had cbc, and hepatitis A,B,C testing done and doc also wanted thyroid .. t3,t4,and tsh ... picked up results on Friday afterneen .... hepatitus (hepatitis) tests stated NON-REACTIVE ... so I assume I am normal ....  the only thing the other tests showed was that my CBC DIFF lymphs reading was 41.3 and notmal is 20-40 so that was the only flag it showed.  When I saw the Doc ... she put me a prilosec ... I was diagnosed years ago with H-pylori in my stomach and gerd and was put on nexsus and did not follow through on meds after the first few months ... so she said I should be taking it ...  I see her again in about a week.

I still have pressure type pain in my right side just under my ribs ... could it be the gerd again?  Thanks to all of you ...

I also got Dr. Cabot's book on healthy eating for your liver and have started to drink the fruit smoothie with soy milk with the flex seed, sunflower seed and almond mixture for added fiber and protein in the mornings ... and adding more raw vegtables in my diet ...

I got the results of a blood test taken for a C8 health project and had a few red flags. Don't know whether to be concerned or not. My AST level was 15 but my ALT level was 44. My LDL (cholesterol) level was 181. I am so worried something might be wrong.  If I do have Hepatitis C how is it treated?
