HCV Hepatitis C

Ok so I was a regular blood donor. Last year in April I gave blood with no problems (double red) then on June I gave blood and given a notice by red cross that  I had Anti bodies for Hep C.
I went to the doctor and found out I had no Virus load.
I don't do drugs and I only had one sexual partner (wife) who tested negative.
Now, I know there is a strong chance I never contracted it and it was a false positive.
I was wondering if anyone know how to take the HCV RIBA test? I am having difficultly finding out where I can get the test done. I am located in Tucson, AZ

As far as I know the HCV RIBA test is the only one that can prove if I ever had it for sure.
I am now going through a bitter divorce and my soon to be ex-wife is trying to claim that I cheated on her, which is untrue. She is going to use this against me in court if I can't prove it.

I was already told by Quest Diagnostics that Sonoran Quest could take the test and refer the test to them, but I called Sonoran Quest and they said no they would not do that. So, I am lost with that. It seems everyone discontinued this test.

This is from Lab Corp

Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Antibody Verification
Test Number: 144090

Use

Since as many as 90% of commercial intravenous immunoglobulins test positive for hepatitis C antibody, an artifactual positive can result briefly after transfusion. Following the development of sensitive and specific testing for hepatitis B, 90% of post-transfusion hepatitis is now hepatitis C. A gene product (c100) of hepatitis C virus (HCV) was isolated and an assay for anti-HCV developed. The assay detects antibody to presumptive togavirus, which may be an etiologic agent of non-A, non-B hepatitis (which may not be a unitary disease entity).

Limitations

Testing for HCV antibodies is to assess past or present exposure to hepatitis C virus infection; additional testing for the hepatitis virus is required to determine acute or active infection.

PS-call your county health clinic to see where you can get tested if you don't have a doctor who can do it. It's just a targeted blood test. The county might direct you to a low cost test like $20. Even though it's not a STD the STD clinics will do a test for cheap too. Most every city has a clinic like that.

Not to mention the fact that Hepatitis C is not a sexually transmitted disease. If your ex comes back at you with this meme, she will look like an ignorant fool and anything she says after may be discounted.

You are a regular blood donor and if you have donated blood in the early 80's the possibility of getting HCV then was high.

Stay calm and loving. Everything will be ok if you lose the fear of the unknown.
