HCV Indeterminate - Autoimmune disease
HCV Indeterminate - autoimmune disease

I had two antibody HCV tests which came back indeterminate (3 months apart). I am at a very low risk for hepC. I had to undergo these tests when I volunteered for blood donation.

I am Rh +Ve and my wife is Rh –Ve. We have children of both Rh type. I am going to have a PCR test.

My question is, if PCR is negative, am I completely safe? I read about the chance of having autoimmune diseases in people with HCV indeterminate results.

Can HCV indeterminate be a symptom of any other serious diseases?

I am very worried about this and any info on this will be very helpful to me.

Thank you.

Tom.

As far as HCV is concerned, yes, it would mean you don't have HCV, I don't know much about autoimmune hep so I can't respond to that question
