HCV RNA PCR test

by apache1, Sep 23, 2008 03:59PM
Is a HCV RNA Quantitative real time PCR test, that goes to a sensitivity of <50 good enough to prove RVR ? or SvR ?

On a RNA Quantitative real time PCR test that goes to sensitivity of < 50 ... and the results are <50  does this mean  UND ?

How often will a HcV RNA Quantitative real time PCR  test, that goes to a sensitivity of <50,  come back as <50, and then a more sensitive test show very small amounts of virus , Is this common ?

Sometimes it can happen. If you ask for a QUAL TMA they usually are a sensitivity of < 10 or < 5. There have been people on here while on tx that had VL between 10 and 50.
